For all you lovelies over a certain age (including me). I use http://www.monsiaskincare.com/uk/mon...al-system.html
The cleanser and toner work very well for me
The day moisturiser has a SPF15 rating which is good and not greasy
The intense night cream is especially yummy!

I have just recently started wearing make up on a more regular basis. I used to only wear it very rarely for the odd night out and would never have worn proper foundation, just powder. But now I wear concealer and powder on a daily basis and then like today have worn foundation and powder.

Now, I have found that Im not very skilled in taking the make up off. I have been using 'cleansers' which also say that they remove make up. But using 3 big pads of cotton wool, 2 for the cream and 1 for the toner, I still see colour on the pad once Im on to the toner which suggests that the make up still isnt removed and Ive been really rubbing over my face to make it come off.

How do you remove make up thoroughly?

I dont want to use any 'washes' as such as I dont like all the water running down my arms when you wash your face with water over the sink and I dont use flannels and cloths and things (bit funny about them). I also dont like the idea of the make up remover wipes you get, I thought some sort of cream would be enough.
I use a tub of Superdrugs hydrogenated coconut oil which costs only £2.29 and lasts months and months

I warm it in the sink (in winter when solid - in summer it comes out easy) I scrape a chunk out and rub it all over my face, it melts very quickly on skin. I then massage for a good few minutes and even rub it into eyelashes to remove mascara.

I look like a clown at first with make up and mascara smudged everywhere but then I rub off with long strokes using a wet large cotton pad. You can squeeze well to avoid water dripping out of it everywhere or use a flannel if you prefer. I then rinse again my face and pat dry.

The oil breaks all products down, you have smooth skin after and no tightening of the skin because its a moisturizer. Its got 0 chemicals/parabens etc, does not sting at all and is as gentle as it comes. Contrary to what you'd expect, the thick oil does not clog pores and has even reduced mine dramatically, probably because it pushes right into them and lifts the dirt right out better than thin micellar waters or wipes which only touch the surface.

No spending £££ on chemical filled expensive brands for me. Coconut oil, cannot recommend enough

I also add fine grains of sea salt to it too sometimes after the initial makeup is gone for a home made scrub, removes all dead skin and sea salt improves the skin and cleanses hence why our skin is so clear on holiday, plus the sun of course but you cant buy that in a jar im afraid

I'm another fan of coconut oil. I use it to cleanse and moisturise everyday.

Yay another fan its so inexpensive for the length of time it lasts and is so good for the skin. all my make up wipes dried up anyway or stung my face, was getting so sick of it.

I just used it now as a salt scrub because I could feel the little flakes of dry skin from all my central heating and it was driving me mad. Now its all smooth,

I use Johnson's baby lotion. I don't like wipes, they dry my skin.

However every now and again I do a cleanse where I rub olive oil on with my fingertips in a massaging motion then wipe off with a damp warm cotton pad (cold doesn't work, it must have been placed in hot water, it cools quickly). This is an amazing deep cleanse and leaves your skin feeling baby soft.
