Sorry but that was ridiculous.

Lauren was outstanding.

Fleur did very good.

Andrea stormed it.

But eight kids miming the chorus and singing the verses live and most of them not very well in one of the worst versions of that song i've ever heard is ridiculous.

Ben was awful. Singing a Whitney song in a rock voice didn't work for me.

Stevie was ridiculous i can't believe how far he's come in this show. If the voting was NOT free he would have gone ages ago.

Who will make the final? Andrea is pretty much a definite. Lauren should take the second place. The last place is between Kicks, Fleur and Ben.

Standing ovations mean nothing now. They've completely diluted the whole meaning of them.

They are so annoying, OTY were so much better then them.

They are so desperate. Cowell doesn't want to look like a fool by having his project flop massively.

But Stereo Kicks will flop and what Cowell has done for them is nothing short of ridiculous.

It was a bad idea. Move the **** on.

Agree Stereo Kicks did not deserve the standing ovation. It was clear that Simon wanted them through and would do anything to achieve this though. His smirk when they went through was very annoying. Some of the boys can sing individually ( the tall thin one (? James) in particular), but as a group there is just too many of them. They also do all look quite similar, which does not help with identifying them, even with the ridiculous Spice girls rip off nick names. The group do not gel and their performances are usually quite average, but Simon bigs them up as he can see pound signs.

Fleur did well tonight, but none of the other acts blew me away.

Andrea has always been over rated, he has a pleasant voice and is quite sweet, but too me is not the great singer he is made out to be. Tonight the song was too big for him and I am getting bored with him singing women's songs, it would have been nice to see him do an Elton song.

Ben was awful and he has been most weeks. I don't mind a gravelly rock voice, but Ben's voice has a really unpleasant sound/tone to it, which I find quite painful to listen to.

Lauren is ok and seems like a nice girl (if a little precocious, her brother also coming across as precocious). She has a pleasant voice, but has not wowed me for weeks (her Dark Horse with dodgy dancing and poor vocals being a low point). She needs to up her game as she is starting to become a bit boring.

I remember when Matt Cardle did First Time I Ever Saw Your Face or Alexandra Burke with Listen. Those were worthy. But this? NO.

It is embarrassing how Cowell stands up for every performance that they give despite the fact that vocally they are (Stevi aside) the weakest in the competition, he is so desperate for this project of his to be a success, but I think its doomed for failure.

Stereo Kicks MIMED that last chorus. Its so obvious. One or two lines sang over that last chorus were live.

Most of the first verse and second were live but that last chorus was mimed. They can't harmonize or they won't take the risk unless it comes out rock. I know most did Girls Aloud did the same with The Promise when they came on, verses live chorus's mimed.

Watch it back you'll see.

Cheryl didn't want to stand up by the way, she was gritting her teeth. Simon told her too.

I'd rather they go out over Stevi.

Oh, and Mr Cowell their best performance was Let It Be.

This was a half mimed semi-disaster.

Oh but STEVI needs to be out next now. There's people with real potential here. It's not fair.

An example of a deserved standing ovation.

Alexandra Burke - Listen

That Stereo Kicks performance was a piece of S**t. Sorry. They deserve an ovation on Let It Be though.

This is how you sing Don't Let The Sun Go Down on Me for anyone who wants a reference.

My sister is right, X Factor really is responsible for the overuse of standing ovations

Thought it very telling that not even Mel stood up after andrea, yet all 4 were up for SK to be fair I didn't think anyone deserved a standing ovation tonight

Completely agree! I did think it was ok though. They're just standing for basically anything this series, it was even more ridiculous when Simon stood for them when they sang Everybody (Backstreet's Back)! I swear he's more invested in SK than his own acts haha. I'd say it was about a 5/10 - not horrific but they still bore me and no way did it deserve a standing o.

Annoyed that most of that performance was mimed and they got a standing ovation for it.

Oh my he stood for Everybody Backstreet Boys thing too? Flipping heck. He's so desperate to justify signing them up to his label. What he doesn't realize is that 1D were a one off.

Lauren deserved it but thats if i had to choose only one person to get one. But in truth, no one did anything spectacular tonight.

Interesting question for the fact finders, has anyone who got a standing ovation for a performance been voted out in the same week or been bottom 2. That would be interesting. It does psychologically plant in people's head that something was good when even it wasn't.

And then the following night when he knew they were going to be in the bottom two he said they were in trouble after that performance. That just summed up how desperate he is for this vanity project of his to succeed and more importantly for himself not been seen a being wrong.

I agree Stereo Kicks didn't deserve a standing ovation as I thought there were tuning problems throughout their performance

It was pathetic! I don't get it. Very weak vocals!
