Could Cora be leaving? Is she another step in the whitewash of all things to do with Kirkwood and Newman?

With Lola going, surely this theory can be considered once more.
That basically leaves Cora (who's on a break), Les (who was first introduced by Kirkwood for Pat's funeral) and Tina (Lorraine Newman introduction) as the only remnants of their eras. And it could be argued that Les and Tina are more synonymous with DTC since he made them regulars. Cindy is a kind of halfway example. The character has existed for 16 or 17 years, but it was under Newman that she was brought back, portrayed by Mimi Keene until today. |

I'm pretty sure Tina was not a Newman character. I'm sure I read somewhere that DTC was the one to cast the actress in the role, and I would not be surprised if he casted Cindy too. I get the impression that DTC was pulling the strings from behind the scenes long before he officially became exec producer - hence Ronnie's return in September 2013. That had DTC written all over it.
So that leaves just two characters from the 2010-13 era left in the show - Cindy and Les. And Les was only ever a guest character to begin with. The theory continues to gather evidence... |

The only ones left are:- Sharon Watts - Kirkwood 2012 Cindy Williams - Newman 2013 Ronnie Mitchell - Newman 2013 I believe the theory is a strong possibility |

Kim first appeared in November 2009, only weeks after Kirkwood's appointment was announced and months before he even set foot in office. Even though she was a guest character at that time she is most definitely a Santer/DTC creation.

It was Newman who commented on Ronnie's return and the casting of Cindy.
