Innuendo Overload
Corstemmee

I'm actually getting pretty sick of all the sex references and innuendo. I realise it's post-watershed, but the producers must realise that the show is watched by many younger teenagers?

Even disregarding the younger viewers, I'm fed up with the smut and innuendo.

Examples:

Kendra, before trial: I don't like the word cockroach. I like cock but not cockroach...

Kendra being massaged by Jake: Ooh, that feels sooo good. Deeper, deeper...

Mel: Have you been wet since you've been in here? - followed by talk of hard-ons and female urges.

Jake asking Nadia about when she last had sex.

Come on! Enough! I don't watch the show to hear all that - it's inappropriate, in my opinion.

They must have plenty of material to use to fill a 1 - 1.5 hr show (especially considering half of it's taken up with adverts, recaps and reading out the phone numbers) - why such stupid editing?

All far too dumbed down for my liking.

You seriously think younger teenagers don't talk about that sort of thing anyway??

Absolutely. Anyone younger who is allowed to stay up and watch probably won't get it anyway.

It's nothing more than regular office innuendo that most of us probably hear every day of the week

I think that talk is fine and infact would go the opposite way and remove the bleeps, It's after nine.

There's nothing wrong with that talk? You'll find nearly all teens talk about that sort of stuff nowadays.

Well, my 15 year-old doesn't talk like that, and that's a fact. Even if many young teenagers do, that doesn't make it right.

Anyway, as I said, even if my teenager wasn't watching it with me, I still think it's rather pathetic and irritating for there to be so much emphasis on sex talk all the time. I find it unnecessary and off-putting. I grew out of that type of crap before I hit 30.

Maybe I'm getting too old to be watching the show.

I agree, it's being overdone. I'm sure out of 24 hours there must be far more interesting conversation than an excess of teenage banter.

You and me both! I am truly rather sick and tired of this sort of talk creeping into so many shows that could well do without it. Is it necessary, does it add anything to the content? IMO it does not. However, it is a case of one man's meat etc, and I just tune out when that sort of talk happens, as someone, somewhere, will love it! I guess it is a case of live and let live - just a shame that it is considered entertainment.

It goes to show how shallow they really are,it would be much nicer to hear about their careers which they rarely seem to talk about ? smutty talk is cheap especially coming from women and not necessary in a programme like this, its hardly entertaining.

I'm finding it 'hard' to watch at times. I'm hoping the 'wood' doesn't get too 'wet' on the fire. Nothing worse than wet wood to keep it hot.
I wonder if Jimmy will do well with the 'bush' tucker trial tonight? Maybe he has to go in to a 'dark cave' for the 'boners' round.

But to be fair, they're even eating sexual organs.

well if you're not a fan of inuendo, how do you feel about in-yer-face vulgarity?

"SHE LOVES A BIT OF COCK" cackle, cackle, snort, rolling on the floor

It's hilarious apparently.

Mel, Kendra and Jake are not teenagers, so not sure what you're getting at.

I absolutely loathe vulgar talk and I am in no way a prude.

The occasional comment is fine, even funny, but after a while it just gets tedious, and boring.

However, playing Devil's Advocate, it could just be a couple of 'jokes' every now and then, and the producers are editing out anything/everything else.

I so agree. However I cannot imagine Michael or Edwina for example really talking about their careers or possibly having a lively debate with some of the 'inmates'. Certainly not a conversation that would be interesting and entertaining.

For example, I looked at another post where words had been contributed to describe the contestants and have selected two with a few additional words of my own in capitals.

Kendra: desperately loud, dysfunctional, cheap, messed up AMERICAN call girl

Melanie: Feisty, conceited calculated, hardnosed obnoxious RUDE STARVING Amazon -woman.

I personally I do not think it would work, unfortunately

It's the way it's edited. In any 24 hour day there will be references to sex among most people, specially when they aren't getting any!

So what you are saying is this is exactly what the producers want and so edit it accordingly. I always thought there was meant to be more content than that. You can turn on the TV and see that on many other programmes. I thought we were being entertained by Celebrities IN THE JUNGLE. People generally in a 24 hour day do talk to each other about many different topics, and with the Celebrities having different backgrounds and experiences, one would think that over the camp fire conversations would be aired.

Could they not each choose a topic to debate each evening. I think it was Tinchey who asked Michael if there was anything he regretted that he had done etc.(Maybe this was encouraged by the producers) However the discussion did not last very long. It always reverts to sex. Perhaps that's all most of them are interested in. Maybe it is for some, the best way to draw attention to themselves. .Well they are Celebrities!!!!!!!

Basically yes. Just like any other reality show. If anything more interesting was going on they would cut it accordingly. There is obviously very little going on. Personally I would love to see more interesting debate.
