Looking for an acid house(ish) song
I've been going mad trying to find an acid house song. Well, it's not really acid house as I don't think it has a pounding beat, but it's very trippy and has the synth sound effects you'd only expect to find in 90's rave music. I'd say it was sort of ambient soundscape, though I can't quite put my finger on the genre of music it would fit into.
I've heard it occasionally on 6 Music (daytime), as they tend to play a lot of the same stuff repeatedly. I guess you could say it was a little bit like A Guy Called Gerald - Voodoo Ray, Pacific State - 808 State or Origin Unknown - Valley of the Shadows, in that it has that sort dreamy, ethereal sound to it I guess. The sort of music that makes you feel like you're on a dissociative drug. I think I maybe haven't heard it in a few months so it's possible it's off their playlist now. The only thing I can remember about it at the moment is that I think it has the sound of children in it, and I think there might be a guy that says 'orange' every now and again. It's altogether very weird and random, which is probably why they don't play it that much! If anyone has any suggestions, help me out here. Even if I don't find out this song at least maybe I might get a few good suggestions. It seems like it is probably quite an obscure one so I don't hold much hope of finding it, unless I hear it on 6 Music again. Thanks! |

Yes! This is the one, thanks
![]() I'm quite jealous in that you have all of BoC's back catalogue still to discover. Take a listen to Music Has the Right To Children - it's truly one of the greatest albums of all time. |
