When asked something about his friendship with Tinchy he said something about being so different and mention age and stuff and then said he was middle class, how would he describe Tinchy then - just thought it was odd Burke should say that and how does he place his other camp mates then

He also said he was white! No shit! He is Sooo dull I am really surprised, I was excited to see that he was on the show, but I think he has for some reason decided he can't or doesn't want to just get involved in conversation, unless we just haven't seen this footage. Give him a trial..let's see what he's made of.

Well he is middle class, you could hardly describe him as working class. He was being asked why him and Tinchy had clicked and he was just saying that maybe it was because they were complete opposites.

I've not really seen enough of him to make a real judgement. He seems ok from what I've seen. Would like to see him do a trial and then we should get the measure of the man!

He's coming across as rather aloof and not really engaging with anyone much. Not sure if he just can't really relate to anyone in there - as he is clearly an intelligent educated man or whether he is a bit of a snob and sees most housemates as a bit beneath him. Jury still out on that for me - but he could do with cheering up a bit too.

I thought he might pair off with Edwina, I'd quite like to hear their conversations , but it doesn't really look like he's particularly getting on with anyone.

He seemed more excited about receiving a bag of nuts than a photo of his grandchildren, to me.

I've always rather liked him as a broadcaster, but from the edit of him we've received, I'm rather disappointed by how aloof he's coming across.

Do not under estimate him,he never got to be a broadcasting legend through a lack of hard work,he is just playing things carefully as they come along, not everyone is a team player but I think he would step in and say something if things were not right, just like he did with Edwina Curry and the question about John Major.

I think he's just quiet. Maybe he's a lot more shy than the other celebrities.

I think he gets on best with Tinchy because they're both the quietest.

What edit would that be exactly because he has had virtually NONE.
So ntot sure how he can be seen as aloof because no one has had an opportunity to judge one way or the other.

Too busy with pinky and perky - Jake and Kendra - got to get the priorities right !

I agree with you entirely but to date everyone is too busy giving TV space to people who ARE a waste of space.

I've seen him engage with most of them. He's not a very effusive person but I prefer people like that.

He has actually admitted he's a snob but I haven't seem any actual evidence of that.

I love him anyway

Not if it's said as a matter of fact I'd have thought.

I've just seen the daily express front page tomorrow, saying his wife has flown in due to jungle fears, anyone know what's up, it's hardly gonna help having her just over the screen and not being able to see her

I think we aren't seeing enough of him. They focus to much on a handful of celebs and always leave a few out. I think if we seen more he could be quite interesting

He went to an independent school but his mother died when he was fifteen and when he met his Canadian father when Michael was twenty two for the first time since his parents split up when he was a baby, the father died a few months later.
He's not coming over as a snob I think but he's obviously not a natural extravert. who easily expresses emotions. He might not be joining in much in an extravert way because of that. I like him. He seems to care about others in his quiet way and there are plenty of noisy people in there anyway.

Berk means stupid or idiot and he definetly isn't that, is it because he doesn't act the goat or talk about himself all the time like some of the narcissist idiots in there

Here's the Mirror's story: http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/i...buerks-4682243

His wife has flown out as have all the friends and family as is the norm. She is just commenting on how very slim he is which is true but I don't think there is an actual real concern.

Journalists are unlikely to fit in as well as other people.

All his life has been about getting the story, without betraying any emotion (because the story you are reporting isn't about you) I expect it's hard to kick the habits of a lifetime- to want to find out what makes the others tick, rather than give away much about himself. I wouldn't call that 'aloof'. It probably feels like another story to report on, rather than participate in.

All broadcast journalism is about keeping your emotions in check, as you are not the story. so 'opening up' won't come naturally to him..
