Journalists are unlikely to fit in as well as other people.

All his life has been about getting the story, without betraying any emotion (because the story you are reporting isn't about you) I expect it's hard to kick the habits of a lifetime- to want to find out what makes the others tick, rather than give away much about himself. I wouldn't call that 'aloof'. It probably feels like another story to report on, rather than participate in.

All broadcast journalism is about keeping your emotions in check, as you are not the story. so 'opening up' won't come naturally to him..

Absolutely spot-on summation. He has managed to get info. on the loathsome Hefner I have never known to be spelled out so clearly before.

It was nice to see more of Michael in last night's episode. He did well in the 'Guess Who' challenge and was largely responsible for three of his campmates meeting loved ones. Nice moment to see him next to his wife, and I enjoyed his chat with Kendra. I wonder whether the conversation between Kendra and Edwina would have gone had Michael not left his place at that moment. Would his journalistic instincts have continued and let them carry on slugging it out, or would he have interjected his own opinion?

Michael has his own yacht. I was on holiday in Turkey and saw him sitting on board.

Well that is what you think but I for one like his fragments and want to see more of him and less of Jake and Kendra.

Starting to dislike Melanie more and more.

Yes but middle class is what you are - you dont say you are middle class as that is being pompous dont you think
I don't think it's pompous. He's merely stating a fact - I think we all know what 'class' we are don't we? I also think it's probably quite relevant to how we relate to others. I thought it was quite astute of him to recognise that him and Tinchy are quite different but get on quite well probably because of that act.

He did and it was interesting to see how Kendra spoke about it. She seemed a little embarassed about what she'd done....like talking about it in that situation showed it up for the seedy life it is.

The jury was out with me - but after last night's show I am starting to see a more human and engaging side to him. He isn't coming over as if he regards himself as superior to the others in any way and just seems to be mucking in and getting on with it. Reality TV is not his world - so it can't be easy for him at times.
