There’s tension between Melanie Sykes and Jake Quickenden in the I’m A Celebrity 2014 camp.



The pair, who are both favourites to win, haven’t been seeing eye to eye after Mel refused to humour his flirty advances.

It’s now left Jake trying to wind up Mel by supposedly hiding her underwear and clothing around the jungle… and she’s unsurprisingly not best pleased.

“It’s clear Jake is not at all happy at Mel’s attitude towards him,” a source on the show said today. “The others have noticed he’s been flashing her angry looks.”

The insider told the Daily Star newspaper: “That’s already led to gossip, when Jake’s out of earshot, that he has hidden Mel’s underwear to annoy her.

“It seems Mel is also coming to that conclusion. It is only going to cause even more friction between her and Jake.”



With the bookies and Mel is the current joint favourite to win the series along with Jimmy Bullard.

But since entering camp a few days after launch night, X Factor singer Jake has seen his odds repeatedly cut.

Bookmakers Paddy Power have revealed they’ve DOUBLE the bets they usually receive from female punters going on the X Factor hunk.

Usually only 32% of bets on the show are placed by women but, since hunky Jake’s arrival, this number has soared – with well over half of bets over the last three days having been placed by female bettors, keen to have a flutter on the tattooed singer.

With so many women certain that that torso is going nowhere, Paddy Power has been forced to slash the odds of Jake winning, from 12/1 to 6/1, making him third favourite to be crowned King of the Jungle.

She also has a problem with Michael and how she speaks to him on occassion makes me think she's not the totally nice girl she's trying to portray.

Oh, I think she's quite bolshy, to say the least. Gutsy yes, but the flip side of that is quite often a bolshy or domineering nature.

Since it's The Daily Star I'll only believe it when I see it on screen.

She was horrible to Michael in the episode on Sunday when they found out about the CIA she snapped at him and said he isnt her dad and then carried on at him..... I dont blame anyone for telling her to calm down- she was hysterical and so high pitched and what the hell with her ott reaction to being chosen to the do the challenge.

I like strong dominant women, and I think Mel is great!, but I would not like to get on the wrong side of her, Jake is either very brave or very stupid to wind her up!

Jake is a complete c***. Yesterday there was a clip of him and Nadia preparing for the live trail on Sunday. He looked in a mirror and asked her "do I look OK" and she replied slightly sarcastically "yes you look gorgeous". He then gave her a big long kiss on the cheek and walked off, and she didn't look very pleased. I think if I was her I would have punched him straight in the gob.

I thought it was quite funny when Mel snapped at Michael, " Don't talk to me in that way, your not my Father!"

He wasn't being serious by the way, just in case you didn't get that.

There was that slightly weird exchange where Mel was saying quite loudly that she didn't fancy Jake, he did nothing for her even though he's handsome. He seemed to think she would be all over him.

He told her to sshhh, not surprising she got a bit annoyed at that.
