Hi
We've been using Netflix & Amazon Instant Video via Ipads and our Sony Home Cinema system for a few weeks without any issues. We bought a dongle this week to start using Netflix on our main tv but whilst BBCiplayer, ITV & Channel 4 OD are fine we can't get Netflix or Amazon to play. Netflix comes up with a message 'Can't connect please try later' and Amazon at least comes up with our play list but then says 'we are unble to play your video at this time. Please try agan in a few minutes'.
I've followed all the help notes on Netflix - ie rebooted router & checked there is an ESN number (there is one but the help notes says to 'deactivate' it but there isn't an option to do this on the screen just 'back' or 'try again').
We are on BT Infinity with 23.66mb/s download, a Samsung Smart Hub tv using a Samsung Wireless Lan adapter dongle.
Any help would be appreciated.

That's what we wondered but we don't see how to force it to check for one being available. Just leaving tv in Smart Hub mode gave updates for some of the apps but nothing for Netflix or Amazon...

update : found the page but no updates available

tv model is UE40ES5500 - Netflix is a preloaded app and Amazon is one downloaded from their list.

You say you are using WiFi. Does the TV have a cabled network option? If so try running a cable between the TV and your router if that is possible, even just for testing purposes.

That would help eliminate any funnys with the WiFi connection affecting things.

Seemingly switchin off " Samsung instant on " works immediately (after switching off / on TV. Find it in - menu - system - general (scroll down to find) and there it is

Thanks to Niall for suggestions but no luck so far. There is no mention of 'Samsung instant on' on any of the menu options in my model and I can't do the different country work-around as I'm only given the choice of UK and Ireland and setting to either of them still leaves me in limbo.
I guess I'll just have to wait for a software/firmware update - but looking around other comments this has been occurring for a while so I won't hold my breath.
Thanks for taking time to help out.
