I'm lead to believe it's double speed. It's just a headline grabbing offer to get customers to check out the difference to their current (likely poorer coverage & slower) network. This should sell it to stay with them in its own right. No idea in the after trial pricing but I am aware tarrifs with EE (& Three somewhat) are about to be given a shake up to wrestle customers currently sticking to Voda/O2..

Well my town doesn't have 4G on Three (coming by the end of the year! Yeah right!) or EE so I will have to travel 17 miles to the town that has it, Ashford in Kent.

I told the OP of this thread that but he said that it doesn't matter people know the difference between MB/s and Mb/s and they've been getting away with it since 2012 personally I believe it's misleading but oh well.

Contact the ASA they'll do something about it.

Actually what i said was i dont find the title misleading as such because its all in capitals and its just a title EE have been doing that since they started their website, and on the very next line in the "Description" the bit that counts they put the right Mb,
If they'd done MB all way through id agree its false advertising but i don't personally class the capital B in the title as false advertising as all the title is capitals

In the terms it says Mobile only, so doesn't this mean the SIM can only be used in a handset and not in a mifi device.

Lots of people just assuming that EE's Tariff's will be the same when this deal ends, or that nothing better will be offered when the time comes. People already giving up hope even before the Sim arrives.

Nobody knows what tariffs will be available in Two months time or are in the pipeline for the New Year. Perhaps this is some exercise to find out how EE's network copes with more people using large amounts of data, perhaps they want to see statistically how much Data the average person consumes even when large data limits are given to them.

EE are a business, so whatever the strategy behind this offer, it will be for commercial or marketing reasons. I seriously doubt that this idea was created because somebody woke up with a warm fuzzy feeling, and just wanted to give us all a big Xmas hug.

Perhaps this is the start of prices being lowered on their existing larger data tariffs, maybe they are considering launching other tariffs - who knows.

I seriously doubt EE will ever offer 100GB deals after this offer has gone, but perhaps their existing offers will become more attractive price wise, perhaps aimed at those who need more than 4GB worth of tethering.

As i've said on other threads previously, Three remained unchallenged in respect of large amounts of mobile data and even more so with its unlimited tethering option. Nobody can compete with or go one better than unlimited which probably explained why nobody did

. Now that element of the competition has gone, the goalposts have moved, Three have backed down and once again that niche' is open and its all to play for,

Whilst no other network had any intention of matching unlimited data toe-to-toe, 4GB a month is perhaps a little less of a challenge.

In the meantime, order the free sim, enjoy 200GB worth of data over 2 months in 100gb chunks and then worry about what else to do or where else to go when the time comes!. Even if nothing happens and EE don't offer anything better when they eventually make contact at the end of the trial then walk away.

Does the data start from when you receive the sim or from when you first use it?

My one plan unlimited tethering ends on the 9th of Jan so would like the 100gb per month to start nearer then.
