Roisin has been strong throughout, although she did have a wobble as PM on the home fragrance when she did make bad errors on both pricing (too low) and discounting (offloading stock to small retailers too soon at the expense of the posh hotel). However, she's calm, professional and one of the few candidates who has stood out for having some semblance of creativity.

I'd classify her as 'quietly assertive'. She's no shrinking violet, but she's not going to thump the table just for the sake of making herself heard.

I do understand to an extent Sugar's concern about quieter candidates - he wants his business partner to be someone who will call a spade a spade and not wait to be called upon - but that shouldn't be counted against Roisin if she has the skills and the business plan to go with it. Not being a ranter or a raver worked fine for Tom Pellereau, Simon Ambrose and Tim Campbell.

I think she's a decent enough candidate and mostly comes across well, but I was underwhelmed with her 'annihilation' of James in the boardroom. He was such a prat over the course of the task that she could have picked out so many actual examples of *how* he was a disaster but she (or the edit) just showed her speaking in general terms and it came across as quite weak to me.

Also, for the love of whatever deity you're into, how hard is it to pronounce her name correctly?!!

How do we know she didn't?....

The final boardroom lasts a darn sight longer than the couple of minutes it is on our screens, so I fully expect Roisin to have demolished James even more, but they (as you rightly say) used the edit to even it out a bit.

That's basically it - although it's more ROW-sheen. James had it right last night but LS and Nick and a few others keep calling her roshEEN (with the emphasis on the second syllable and a short 'o' sound as opposed to a long 'o' and the first syllable stressed.)

It it was an edit, it hasn't done her any favours. TBH, when she left the boardroom before going for the 'last three standing' scene. I thought she looked well and truly ready to deal with James. Being half Irish myself, that sort of building 'fume' does not dissipate quickly-it grows and grows until it is given a space to show itself!!

Indeed. I understand the entire boardroom sequence can take upwards of two hours, but we see maybe 15 minutes of it. It should be obvious from just watching it that it's ruthlessly edited down to just the key points - often, people are cut off mid-speech and we just get little soundbites out of what is clearly a much longer explanation.

I wasn't that impressed with Roisin's diatribe, she could have picked on all the times he has been aggressive, she even said so during the episode. James still spoke over most of it (they muted him on YF to make it look like James sat there and took it, but he didn't in the episode)

Roisin had nothing to do with James's firing, Sugar just felt that it was time, and he got a 'with regret' too.

I feel Roisin's getting a very Helen Milligan type edit and she'll get to the final with ease but get picked to the post by whoever she is pitted against in the final 2. Having said that I think she has a good work ethic (better than Helen's in some ways I think) and is very pleasant but isn't Lord Sugar business partner material in my opinion.

Sorry, but no. I know an Irish lady called Roisin and she pronounces it 'R'sheen', hardly sounding the first vowel sound.

'Rosh-een' is not quite right, but 'ROW-sheen' is totally and utterly wrong. That comes straight from the Sugar School Of Mispronounciation (see also 'blahddy', 'shataaap', etc)

More like ROE-Sheen, without the 'w' sound.

Maybe there are various ways of pronouncing it, like Naomi. Some say NAY-om-ee, some say Nye-OME-ee.

She was smoking hot in her PJs this episode...

She also comes across as calm and collected. Beauty and brains what more can you ask for...

She got lucky, if she had Daniels dealer she would have had a tougher deal.

It's really not. I'm Irish myself and know a lot of Róisins. When I said 'ROW', I meant as in 'row, row, row your boat'. Not row as in argue.

There are a couple of different ways of pronouncing it - but of all the Róisíns I know (and there are a lot of them), only one of them doesn't pronounce it that way.

She got a strange edit last night. She got the Karren character-assassination - "Ugh what is she doing?" "Why is she not listening to her team?" ect ect

But then it was flipped on its head with getting the diamond for £50. I don't know how much that was attempted to be devalued with the 'because she's a hot blonde woman' viewpoint, plus she wasn't exactly given much credit in the boardroom yet again.
I feel like, if she was the winner, they'd have milked Roisin's positive moments a bit more.
Wikipedia says that without Roisin's low diamond cost then her team would have lost even with the fines on the other team. But I don't remember that being thrown in the viewers faces in a way to say 'Wow look what Roisin did!'

I can't even remember if we've had the obligatory Nick/Karren random compliment for something Roisin did. Like with Stella or Leah in the first task of their series - Stella and Liz sorting out the numbers, Leah leading a strong sub-team ect

Karren did a camera aside about her negotiating skills.

It wasn't really negotiating though TBF, she said a number, and he all but crumbled. So unless she employs some Jedi Mind Trick, it was either a missive fluke, or the guy was robbing the place and just needed them out of there.

I don't recall Michelle ever getting a comment like that. There may have been others who didn't, I'm not sure, but I definitely can't recall one about Michelle.

The correct pronunciation is Ro-Sheen, with a slightly more emphasis on the Sheen .

It's just the Irish form of the name Rose .

It's a name, so the correct pronunciation is whatever Roisin (or her parents) have deemed it to be.
