The bar is pretty much on the floor! It was a little underhand, for sure, but there's sneaky and then there's morally reprehensible. What Mark did was the former but a million miles from the latter. And it's pretty hard to argue that it wasn't the right decision for the team (and coincidentally for Mark).

Katie and Mark were the right choice. Katie had the product knowledge and Mark had the charm and the look. It's a 'glamour' item; Daniel would have looked out of place.

Katie's not glamourous in any way and Daniel also had the product knowledge. If anything, Daniel and Felipe didn't suit the image of selling flatcap handbags to women at all.

Mark is the better seller but he definitely got lucky with the seven hot tubs...

I am staggered that so many FM's seem to think Mark was "lucky" to sell those seven hot tubs to the holiday park owner. There is no way that the bloke would have sprung for them if Mark hadn't given a good sales pitch, because is anyone that naïve that they think that Marks stall was the only one selling them at the show?.....

He was lucky insofar that it was a bulk order rather than a single sale - although as we've already said luck had nothing to do with the fact that he had already closed two sales which by then had already won the task fot Tenacity (not that they knew it at that point, of course).

While there's an element of luck in that you're only ever going to sell to someone who wants to buy a hot tub in the first place - it's hardly an iimpulse purchase! - there's still sales skill involved in closing the deal. For people to say anyone could do it is a bit silly, really.

I think that half of these forums members should go on the show. It's all very easy to sit and talk about how easy the tasks are and how appalling stupid the candidates are when you're sat at home with an armchair and a nice bowl of crisps. When you're actually doing it, I have no doubt that it is considerably harder than it looks. This is why I like it on the rare occasions that they have past candidates on You're Fired!; they are in more of a position to judge than anyone else.

I've sold at these shows many years back and they are a real shark tank with vendors having to be on the ball at all times to ensure they aren't being undercut too much. What I will say in the defence of the sub team is that the pitches for the smaller ticket items were bloody terrible, and if the footfall shown was indicative of the general trend they had to face, I think they were lucky to get the sales they did.

Daniel would have lost that hot-tub deal. An overbearing clown with no tact at all, but makes for good TV.

not really. All Daniel had to do was out sell Felipe. Sugar said at the beginning, this is a selling task and he will be looking at the the sales figures. He did outsell Felipe, so he was safe. Felipe would have been fired if they lost. Sugar was not happy about Daniel taken of the hottubs.

I am not a fan of Daniel, but Felipe was very lucky they won.

Yes but that's where LS is a bit stupid, the task can't come to down sales figures (in a monetary way), because there's no way you could sell the amount of sub products to out sell a main item. So you just had to sell sell sell, and hope your team wins first, then hope you sold enough to ensure LS doesn't pick you up on lack of sales. With double and treble firings on this show, you may still not be safe on the winning team.

Felipe would of brought Mark and Daniel back in had they lost, Mark for not selling enough tubs and Daniel for being Daniel. So Daniel should of been "switched on" enough to keep his head down and sell, instead of bitching all day.

It takes two people to bitch, Felipe was just as bad as Daniel. Daniel was smart enough to realise that as long as he outsold Felipe he would more than likely be safe and he managed to do that.

^^Now that I do agree on, but lets face it Felipe's not the strongest salesperson, but then again neither's Daniel on his apprentice track record. That's one reason I don't rate Felipe, he didn't sell enough to protect himself, should they of lost, or came so close as for LS to pick up on it. Felipe just didn't realise he'd been stiched up, if they lost Mark would of probably been safe, but Felipe would of got it in the neck for not sending Daniel to the hot tub team, or for not sending Mark, and for not selling.
