Had to suspend Khali Best -rewrites

Had to suspend Ricky Norwood -rewrites

One of his favourite characters in his favourite family quit aka Sam Strike

One of uk soaps most handsome hunks Ben Hardy quits

Patsy Palmer quit at relatively short notice it appears leading him to axe new family the spraggans-rewrites

Jacqueline Jossa fell pregnant -possible storyline change

Wanted David Witts to stay rumour has it but failed to persuade him

Possible unresolved issue with one of the shows leading ladies.
Hope from his point of view theres no more unexpected obstacles.

Louise Berridge had a huge run of bad luck too but I think it's slightly better for Mr Dom as he has lots of big characters to take up the slack if required.

I've never heard that David Witts rumor and find it hard to believe, his character was dull.

RN and KB, unfortunate but not his fault entirely on them.

Sam Strike I admit is unusual, the velocity of his exit and feel there more too it.

Ben Hardy..guy's got noticed and his getting offers he be a fool not to take them.

Patsy Palmar, is fickle, she wasn't getting much in way of storylines and was always off anyway, obviously felt it was worth the risk to try and break hollywood with the knowledge she still has Bianca to fall back on.

Jac Jossa again that's on her and Dan Osbourne but she will most likely come back.

What unresolved issues with a leading lady?

He was only ever on a short contract, he actually stayed longer then he intended, he most likely heading back to Casualty.

I'm assuming they are referring to The Sun's "Story" about Linda Henry and alleged court appearance. Don't know why OP is being coy about it though.

The only unlucky thing to happen IMO, is Patsy Palmer quitting, ouch! Can't blame her though, her character just got a bit dry towards the end, even though DTC did give Bianca some good material in Carol's cancer storyline!

The unresolved issue is LH situation.

None of this is a criticism its a light hearted take on how unlucky hes been for all this to happen in a relatively short space of time. All these are matters largely out of his control which was my point.

David Witts choose to leave he wasnt axed. This will be documented somewhere online.

He didn't. He extended his contract but was only ever supposed to be temporary.

Oh what happened there?
Leslie Grantham and the webcam incident which I would argue is bigger than anything Dom has to deal with.
Actor who played Dad Ferreira got deported so instead of the story they had planned where the kids killed him they went with the kidney bollocks
Jessie Wallace and Kacey Ainsworth both got pregnant.
Spencer Moon actor had difficulties, Paul Trueman actor too. Steve McFadden took a year out, Babs Windsor got ill.
The press were gunning for her, Corrie was at the top of its game with mad Maya, Hillman etc, Emmerdale too and she had a stalker. I dunno how she dealt with the pressure.

Edit -Just found an interview here:

He hasn't had the best of luck in recent months. Most of them (if not all) have been out of his control e.g. the suspensions and actors quitting, so I sympathise with him.

In regards to the actors you named, I thought Patsy Palmer quitting the show was a blessing in disguise as her character was going nowhere and David Witts is no great loss even if DTC did want him around.
Fatboy and Dexter are filler characters anyway who don't get many plotlines, so there's not much to rewrite in all honesty . It would only take a few minutes to delete them out of a episode script .
But the recent losses of Sam Strike and Ben Hardy can't be easy as they're still relatively new and members of two important families on the Square.

But DTC wouldn't be the first EP to have this kind of bad luck. It's happened before. I would say past EPs had it worse (e.g. Louise Berridge). However, the circumstances can't help DTC at this current time where he is trying to build EE back up and firmly re-establish it as the No1 soap.

Ah yes, how can we forget the infamous Fingergate with Leslie Grantham . I still suffer from the nightmares .

Brilliant post!I agree with regards to Palmer but I get the distinct impression it caused significant changes to Carols story.

Thanks.
Hmm, it's hard to know really. Naturally with Bianca being a prominent character, there would've needed to be a fair bit of rewrites for the Butcher/Spraggan related stories. I found it unbelievable that Bianca would leave so soon after Carol was recovering from cancer even for a selfish mare like her . So it probably did cause a few changes to Carol's general direction.

Tell me about it .

I have to sympathise with Leslie though. He obviously can't help it . He just can't resist playing with his fingers - even during an appearance on the Jeremy Kyle Show a few years ago . See below .

No, I promise it's not dirty. Although could be viewed as slightly disturbing when putting Grantham's history into perspective .

No, he means David Witts. The actor who played Joey Branning and mumbled his lines like Chewbacca .
