You also have to remember how much power JS had and how many others he could have taken down with him.

Considering how long it took the police etc to accept evidence that Jimmy Savile was a predator, it's not possible Michael Buerk ,should have had evidence he could present in court.
Besides which, he said that he didn't like him, before evidence was revealed. He didn't say that he knew about evidence but ignored it.
