Steve McFadden will also take a short break too because he's doing panto as well.

Thanks for the info

When actors are in panto it's hardly noticed on screen.

Really I think it is, we had so many absence in 2014, first bulk of the year was made up of it.

Sam Womack let's be honest has hardly been in it, She was away for January-February,She did a disappearing act between April and May and then again between June and September.

Isn't Ronnie suppose to have her baby in December?

Probably already filmed by now.
She will probably have the baby, turn all cold and strange, then do a disappearing act again. Back to Eye-Beeth-Harrr no doubt

That wasn't panto though. That's a few weeks break and is hardly very long onscreen. Characters miss episodes of that amount all the time.

Womack's longer breaks were because of filming other tv series.

I wonder if she will be in the live episodes.

I hope when she returns we will get this villain Ronnie we where promised by DTC a whole YEAR ago!! It all started so well when she killed Carl and came back but when she left in summer and returned in September she wasn't this villain at all! It was the only thing that I was looking foward to watching as the Carters are overused and boring, Stacey's return hasn't really started as DTC said she will have no SL's of her own till next year, Kat/Alfie bore fest, Alexks/Roxy - boring, Lucy murder - total flop, Phil/Sharon boring and Nick's return was the only thing interesting because of Ronnie!

I understand she had obligations to other projects but she still has been absent a hell of a lot and imo it's effect her character and storylines, June - Late September on screen I presume was her holiday time with family, she hasn't been seen in the last two weeks either.

I just hope 2015 is more smoothly and we get some actual decent storylines arcs.

I know she's been absent a hell of a lot. But you responded to someone's comment about PANTO not meaning they have to be absent for very long.

Womack's 2014 absences aren't to do with panto, so unlike those absences her panto break shouldn't be very noticeable.

We knew this already though. It shouldn't change anything major.

I love Ronnie, but I think they need to use her more and to her strengths if I'm honest, I like the idea of Ronnie and Charlie, but I feel it lacks something at times and I'm not quite sure what, I wish Sam would just stay put if I'm honest! She's forever taking breaks! She's as bad as Patsy Palmer! Both great though, so I suppose they're entitled to it!

As for villain Ronnie, that would be great, but I also love the 2007-2011 Ronnie, she was a more damaged character who the audience could connect with! Character development is key, and wherever they're going with Ronnie, I hope they get it right!

What is this "panto"? Is it an annual thing? Anything special?

I don't mind actors being allowed to do other things but I do think having two lengthy breaks this year is a bit generous to SW.

its a prior commitment. She signed up for this ages ago before she was brought back by DTC on a permanent basis. I suspect she will only appear n the live episodes in February as the panto will be well finished by then!

Even when Sam is on EE they never use her. Shes been absent since 1st November. That storyline has been lost in the mist of Carters.

Another break. Isn't this like the third or fourth time now?
