Not really! Phil didn't pay her for sex Ian did.
That's what Phil was saying he has never seen the point in paying for sex.

Chris reason is a great writer and knows the show very very well.

Exactly. She wasn't 'working' at the time of the encounters. He didn't go kerb crawling to pick her up, she didn't charge him.

She wasn't working and Phil never paid her so technically he didn't 'go with a brass'.

He said he wouldn't 'lower himself'. He's always considered himself some sort of sex god so it was very in-keeping with his character to say that.

I enjoyed that he didn't slag Ian off and actually tried to persuade Jane to give him another chance. He has been quite nice to Ian since Lucy's death which has been refreshing its good to see that is continuing and they haven't reverted back to the tired old feud between the two of them.

Sure you wouldn't, Philth . If the 'brass' was young and sexy like Dawn, Phil would have no qualms about paying for her services to get some sex to boost his ego and arrogance . Although I'm not sure he would do it whilst married to Sharon. But I could've definitely seen him doing it in between relationships to feed this fantasy in his head that he's some sort of sex god .
