Was on a site and noticed a music headline which mentioned that ed sheerin had added a third night at wembley stadium.I was surprised a few days ago to see his advert for the first gig but I'm stunned that two more have been announced.how the heck has he managed that with only two albums of boring bland music? There must be a lot of people that like dull songs.

I like him and I like his music. I saw him at a festrival a couple of years ago and he was only performing in one of the smaller tents, but I was surprised at how well he got the crowd going and how well his set worked considering the type of songs he does. However, I'm shocked he's doing three dates at Wembley Stadium. I wouldn't have thought he would be able to sell those out. Obviously the demand is there though.

They are not dull bland songs. Just because he isn't doing overproduced dance music, does not make his music any less special than anyone else's. His music is very honest and personal. He isn't singing about smacking a girl's bum. doing vodka shots, telling the dj to turn the music up or wave our hands in the air like we don't care.

I respect the fact not everyone is going to like him but when people don't do uptempo music and do slow guitar acoustic songs, people are quick to call it boring, bland and dull. It isn't. I find that type of music so much more emotional and raw, as it is purely about the words and not some dance beat we can dance to when drunk out of our faces.

I like folk music - and I find Ed dull as they come.

its great to see a young British artist making it on talent alone (cue Adele) . He's not the best looking young man but he's a talented singer / Songwriter. He's not my cup of tea musically but kudos to him for making it in a shallow industry . Having said that I too am suprised he's doing and "anthem" venue .

I was in disbelief at one show like the OP, let alone 3. I like him and I know he's popular but still.

Just look at his stats for 'x'. First 8 weeks at #1 (followed by a ninth a couple of weeks ago), first 12 weeks in the top 3, first 13 in the top 5 (22 consecutive weeks in the top 10). Total sales of 930,000 which is the best-selling album of the year by a margin of around 300,000 copies.

Based on his album sales, I don't see how it can be considered strange he can sell out a stadium like Wembley three times.

Shocked that he has had this much success with only 2 dull albums.he's already playing stadiums which will no doubt cost a fortune and has gotten lazy as these are his only UK shows next year.fans round the rest of the country won't be able to go to these shows cos of the cost.glad I'm not one of them and I'm a fan of bands like Dr feelgood and wishbone ash who tour everywhere constantly giving good value to the crowds without charging extortionate prices.

Music snobbery and lack of knowledge of artists you don't like rears it's ugly head again.
Yes, I'm not a huge fan and certainly wouldn't play it on my ipod but when I've seen him live on tv he really steps it up a few notches. Middle of the road music has always sold well.... Simply Red, Robson and Jerome, Dido, James Blunt, The Carpenters....

Not my cup of tea personally, but you have to give him credit, writes his own music, rare these days. Give me him over all the shite you tend to see these days.
He will get better once he matures though that is for sure.

I wouldn't say that is lazy at all as he has already toured the UK in support of the current album and also played at several festivals this year!

I am surprised that Ed is doing 3 nights at Wembley Stadium - James Blunt had similar levels of success a few years back and never played venues of that size for starters.

He's the 'James Blunt' of this decade... albeit ginger & with two successful 'coffee-table' albums to his name, as opposed to Jameses one.

Fair play to the chap. He done good indeed.

Well if Dr Feelgood and Wishbone Ash were successful enough to play Wembley then you might find them doing that as well.

He has mastered the art of making middle of the road music which is safe enough to cross the boundaries from Radio 1 and 2 and to almost every commercial station, opening him up to a huge audience.

Very canny indeed, but not my cup of tea by a long shot.

Doesn't hurt him that he comes across as a decent guy too.

Indeed, and I think the way he initially struggled for success and spent ages performing in pubs and clubs also adds credibility in this XFactor era of instant fame. He has gone from playing the 'Kings Arms' to Wembley Stadium in a few years, which is very different to how most acts find fame these days.
