EastEnders - July 8th - Linda's birthday celebrations
EastEnders - July 10th - The Vic at night - Linda and Mich discuss having another baby. Johnny bids farewell to Luca and Mick sings "Pretty Flamingo" I can't decide between these two! I've watched both several times! Amazing! ![]() ![]()

Holby City - this year's 'stand-alone' episode 'Self Control' would be my choice. It was the one where Jac and Jonny's baby was born and Ric's old flame died at a university re-union he and Serena attended.
It was a definite high-point in a rather mediocre series and although it has been steadily improving of late with this new series (in particular the Adrienne/Serena storyline) this is still the stand out highlight of the year for me!! |

Defintely Charity and Declan's lake showdown in Emmerdale resulting in Robbie's death no matter how heartbreaking it was to lose my favourite character

Donna's death in Emmerdale. Absolutely fantastic episode and a masterclass in how to do a brilliant exit for a character (Take Note Hollyoaks)

EE: The rape episode. Having "Pretty Flamingo" playing in the background made the scene so much more emotional.

I'm not a big fan of Beales but that was an outstanding episode. |

Think I already answered this in the most spectacular scene, but yep, the best whole episode was also Donna's death in Emmerdale - my nerves were jangling all the way through, and Verity Rushworth and Michael Parr were just brilliant in it.
I also thought the episode where Charity realised Declan was trying to kill her was amazing, that ended up with him knocking her out cold, but the Donna one edges it for me, because I cared about her and Ross so much. |

Hayley's death episode in January this year was pretty frigging powerful for me and the Best Single Episode of the year. I wrote a review of it: Phenomenal, powerful, raw ... and a lesson to us all. Quote:
"Devastating, impeccably and sublimely acted, with no attempt at being maudlin. The interruption from Carla and Anna was just a turn in the tale, it just ... happened. They had a feeling, they went up, they ... knew. And even turning the key I was willing them not to, simultaneously annoyed with them whilst also generally very upset at the whole tragic situation. Such a deep emotional resonance - it was impeccable, immediate, incredible viewing, to the point where I was practically in a trance. — This episode was no mushy sentimental affair. This was emotional torture at its most ravenous, consuming the individuals on and off screen. David Neilson is a triumph, an actor whose gift is awe-inspiring in its delivery; and Julie Hes, well... she has superbly portrayed a phenomenal, complex, inspirational character on our TV screens for nearly 15 years now and I truly love Hayley. Representing all that truly matters in life: love. Truly life-affirming this has been; a journey for us all, with them but also with ourselves: for we have allowed ourselves to suspend reality and appreciate fiction, to feel emotional and empathetic about something that is not real. We've allowed ourselves to feel sad, to be human." Her funeral was so beautiful to me I wrote another review: Corrie: "She was my constant, my comfort, my compass. Hayley was my truth." This would be the 'runner up' for me. For me these were the standout episodes of Corrie this year by far. |

Best single ep for me: The aftermath of Donna's death in Emmerdale. Seeing how Brenda, Bob, Marlon and Ross all coped with their grief/emotion.
