There's a scene in Ghost where Patrick Swayzee wears Whoopie Goldberg down by singing "I'm Henry the Eighth I am, I am" over and over again until she agrees to help him. That's what Jimmy's singing reminds me of - but there's no way to shut him down

He's becoming unbearable, talk about playing up to the cameras. Yet, no matter how twattish he behaves, they keep singing his praises on ITV2.

I was thinking the same . There seems to be no one in there with the bal*ls to tell him to STFU . No good doing it in a jokey way . It must have been hell doing that trial with him .

Their bias is vomit-inducing. They even make sure the callers are Jimmy fans before they let them on.

It got to the point where I wondered if they were all genuine callers. They probably were but as you suggested - selected.

I think they know that If they say anything to Jimmy they will be disliked by the viewers.

I did not want to like Jimmy at the start - was not a fan before the show and thought he would not tick the boxes for me as a contestant. However, I have done a 360 degree turn. I think he is funny, honest, positive and up for anything which are all things I look for. Sure he can be irritating like your pain in the arse little brother but none of it is nasty, manipulative or false IMO he is just a bit immature and over exuberant. He makes me laugh and is one of the more interesting camp mates. Yep, after sitting on the fence since the start of the show I'm going to come out and say it, Jimmy to win .

I think that when a verbal or abstract, ironic or even a good slapstick physical sense of humour is lacking, for many viewers Jimmy being loud and annoying is what they think of as funny.
I think it's like the difference between a pie fight with great timing - which makes it funny, or on the other hand just someone chucking pies and thinking that they're a comedy genius.
Jimmy reminds me of Joe Swash. They, think they're funny so lots of other people do too. Going through the motions without actually being funny can, work - unfortunately.
