better with A & B listers?

something that many of us tend to say when the line ups are announced for shows such as I'm a Celeb and Strictly is 'who?' and it got me thinking, if these shows were mainly populated by current A & B listers from the showbiz world, do you think the shows would, by default, be watched by more and be more entertaining, or do you to an extent think how current/famous the 'celebs' are is irrelevant i.e. it's personality that counts and 10 A listers that are boring/guarded would be worse to watch than 10 Z listers that are entertaining/open? yes we know A and prob most B listers wouldn't dare enter, however suspend reality ...

imagine Jennifer Aniston having a shower in the jungle ...

It's better, though, if you've actually heard of the celeb - that way you can see whether they meet up with expectations or not, i.e. Nigel Havers turned out to be a complete knobhead, John Lydon was a coward who only moaned and whined in the Bush Telegraph, and Natalie Appleton was a miserable cow who was afraid of trees.

It's a good show for bursting bubbles as well as enhancing reputations.

We don't need A&B celebrities but we don't need Y&Z celebrities either, somewhere in the middle would be nice.

I think you are under-selling John Lydon there. He kept doing little monologues about how beautiful everything was. It was quite endearing.

I agree that more A listers will bring in more viewers, and that it is interesting to watch them unravel. Even if you really like him, there is nothing particularly revealing in watching how someone like Jake copes with jungle life, since most of us knew nothing whatsoever about him before the show. I'm a Celebrity continues to do better than Celebrity Big Brother though: what a bunch of sub-z-listers they have been settling for recently.

What would you classify as the middle? It's all relative.
