To me the Banter I have with my two Scottish friend is funny as it is very obvious that we are saying it for effect and trying to wind them up and as it is like that, no one ever bites. Very different from what Jimmy did where it wasn't that obvious.

And to be funny there are of course areas where you don't go.

Banter is great, it's when people used the word as an excuse that it goes a bit haywire. The secretary at school and myself insult each other loads but it's daft things and in the next breath it's "I love you" None of us would say something personal, Jimmy got too personal with the insults.
