I can't stand that phrase that Dermot uses every 5 seconds(it feels like) give it up for....(insert contestants name).its a stupid american saying that really annoys me.he seems to say it about EVERYBODY.why can't he say let's have a round of applause or even let's hear it for....?

All presenters say that phase now and I agree that it is silly. It always used to be, give a round of applause.
As in everything else we seem to have to do the same as the Americans do. However, it's rather unfair to single out Dermot as everyone else is saying the same.
