Fifth Harmony - Sledgehammer: http://youtu.be/gCJ3rmiZFr8

What can I say. The song and video are just superb.
I really hope the UK stations get behind them.
Though there is some confusion over whether this is the debut here as over on the x factor forum its apparently been confirmed as 'Bo$$'

This is much better than their previous stuff but I don't see it getting picked up in the UK. One thing the UK does much better than the US is pop girl bands. The US has some great RnB/Hip Hop girlbands but it's never done very well with pop girlbands. Their most successful one, the Pussycat Dolls, was basically just Nicole Scherzinger with many back up dancers.

Yes it's bizarre really. The young Cimorelli sisters on YouTube who singer covers of pop hits have a massive following of millions but they've never been offered a record company contract as far as I'm aware. They seem to self publish. I can't see how their singles/albums would fail to be hits.

Edit: Oh they have a deal with Universal. Thought it was odd.

Anyone else disappointed it's not a cover of the Peter Gabriel song? 😁

They remind me of The Saturdays in this song for some reason. I'm not sure why.

It's a nice song, a bit bland, but definitely a grower.

Just had a listen to this and a few others on their youtube page. They seem like a female The Wanted to me in that they're mismatched and dont look right or fit together, thier videos are similar to others and thier songs sound like other people.

sledgehammer sounds just like GRL and BOSS could be done by any duff rnb light group before them-the 411 for example.

I much prefer BO$$ to this. This doesn't really have anything to ot where as BO$$ had attitude and a cool melody.

What about Danity Kane? I think they were/are more a mix of R&B and pop. than pure pop.

I read that they're actually a group of female soloists who were put together to form a girl group. Wonder why they did that? BTW anyone know what's happening with GRL? Are they going to continue?
