Does the truth hurt?

Some will say what Jimmy did was just banter but was he just disguising it to make a point to Jake that many people up and down the land will be saying and that is why is he in the jungle?

Going by the reaction of Jake, the truth did hurt.

Jimmy didn't seem to like being compared physically to Michael Buerk. He's the one who reacted badly to the truth being told.

When it is told with malicious intent. No doubt.

Am not a Jake fan to say the least but he'd said ages ago that he didn't know why he was in there ie he, said that way before Jimmy did. So it wasn't the truth that hurt, no.

What might have hurt was perhaps that a fellow campmate ie Jimmy was being so verbally vicious and jealous because he is determined to win no matter who he annoys or upsets.

To be fair, Jake himself said he didn't know how he was in there. He doesn't see himself as a celeb but he slotted into the group as if he belonged there and good on him for doing that. I think Jimmy's comments were extremely nasty and Jake was visibly hurt by them. Jimmy sees himself as a celebrity but to be honest I'd never heard of Jimmy, whereas I'd heard of Jake so, to me, Jake is more famous than Jimmy.

Seconded. I don't see what Jake has done to deserve such a backlash.

I think Jake considered Jimmy an ally and a friend so him using what Jake had already admitted himself against Jake in the manner he did was what made it hurtful.

The truth can hurt but in this instance it's more about the messenger and the delivery rather than the actual message.

Exactly. Anyway as Jake had already said, he did not know why he was here. He'd only sung a few songs on X factor. So why did Jimmy say what he did, jealousy and envy. It was not a way to endear himself to the public, a complete turn-off. I think Jake is Jimmy's main competitor in the betting stakes at the moment, I do not think his actions were wise.

Especially by someone you've considered a friend. But I dont think it was a case of the truth hurting, Jake's very honest about not being a celeb. I think it was more a sense of betrayal or trusting the wrong person.

Agree.

I did not have a clue who Jake or Jimmy was when I saw the line up but I hope Jimmy is out soon. What a horrid gobby person he is

Jimmy had every right to speak the truth. Should a Doctor hide the test results from a patient because 'the truth hurts'?

I don't see why any one of them has any more right to be there than another. They're hardly A-listers, are they?

What if the patient says 'I have cancer Doctor don't I?' and the Doctor says 'Yes you do you f...ing useless piece of shit'. Would that be fine as it was the truth

I'd never heard of Jimmy before he went in the Jungle. Like others I had heard of Jake.
Of course Jimmy had the right to tell the truth as he sees it, but why dress it up as 'banter'.

I think he showed himself up as a vicious, mean vindictive type of person.

I don't even think it was what Jimmy said as much but the insulting, nasty bullying way he said it. Horrible vile excuse for a man

I was speaking in a general sense of the truth hurting.

And I agree with you 100%. It was n entirely unnecessary torrent of abuse from someone who thinks he is more a celebrity than someone people have actually heard of.

He obviously puts stock in his "celebrity" status as a has-been footballer no-one has heard of. He's an ego-maniac.

Yes he had every right to speak the truth, just as I and others here have every right to judge him to be an insecure attention-seeking bully and a nasty piece of work who will hopefully be eliminated early.

Your judgement is wrong.

Trevor will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you may have missed the point. Would you not prefer the doctor to say something like "Yes, I'm sorry to have to tell you, but you do have cancer" rather than " 'I have cancer Doctor don't I?' and the Doctor says 'Yes you do you f...ing useless piece of shit'. " Can you really not see the difference?

Why are you bringing Doctors into this?
