Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and a Smart TV

One of my kids purchased a Note 3 recently and to someone like me, use to a favourite Nokia, I have to say I was quite impressed with the Note 3 so purchased a used one for myself, the larger screen on the Note 3 helps a lot.

We have several TVs in our property most of them Samsung Smart TVs up to about two years old, one of them is in my office.

What can I do with my new phone and my office TV, connected to each other?

I like to use BubbleUPnP from the Play Store to send over movies and audio (spotify) to my 2012 Samsung Smart TV & my Sony AVR.

If you have a Samsung handset and a Samsung smartTV, you shouldn't need any third-party apps.

Functionality will vary slightly depending on the age of the TV in question but you will be able to stream videos or music to the TV or display pictures on it as a minimum, if it's a more modern TV then you should have full screen mirroring.

On the more recent TVs it's dead simple, you switch on screen mirroring on your handset, use the source button on the TV's remote to select screen mirroring as well, then follow the on-screen instructions.
I'm not as familiar with older models, so you'd probably be best referring to the manual.
