Chalk and cheese.

Features may well be be silently added to catch up in years to come, though just as likely the mass of standard PC stuff will be dropped on Android.
I say PC stuff, but NFC tags came to Android first, not the PC.
Nfc tag really don't know what you are taking about.

Ah, yes. Slander. When it happens a lot you get to understand the word.
...As long as they manage to hang on to a perception of quality the business model is near perfect.
Bent or smashed iPhone 6 Plus users got to know the word slander when they dared to mention theirs was damaged, even here, in a more balanced forum like this one(no joke, this is a more balanced forum)

If their phone actually broke or they admitted theirs had any small bend, they got slandered for being called attention seekers.

We even had professional Apple users here agreeing that Apple famously held back features so that they can drip feed them in future models thus making the maximum amount of money.

Whilst the 6 is like a Nexus 4, the Plus is more a Galaxy Note copycat from mid 2011.
If there is an iPhone 7 I'd say it is a plastic 7 or 8" iPad with phone functionality as standard (a Galaxy Tab copycat).

The fallen off a cliff iPad sales necessitate it. The iWatch complements demand.
They might even strait jacket it with only 1GB of Ram again. (so the Air can stay the expensive 'functional' iPad).
I think that whole drip feeding of features theory needs to be taken with a pinch of salt.

It seems to make a pretty big assumption - namely that a significant proportion of people buy new iPhones every year.

I'm sure some might, but most who do that would probably buy a new iPhone every year anyway, just based on improved specs generally, rather than based on whatever specific feature Apple apparently didn't include.

Basically the proportion of people who buy an iPhone every year will be a minority. And the proportion of that group who wouldn't buy a new iPhone every year regardless will likely be a minority of that group.

So we are to believe that Apple have done their sums and decided better to withold features for those extra few sales to that minority of a minority, than it is to include them earlier to maximise the appeal to everyone.

Straight Jackie sounds serious though - what's that all about? Is it where iOS devices are effectively crippled because of the issue with tabs in Safari?

It's only slander if it isn't true.

Hi guys, just wondered right IF and a big IF the iPhone 6s is released in Spring 2015 when will any announcement or specs be released?

I know Apple hold an event to officially announce new devices but as we have all seen there are always pics and details of the new iPhone months before release day.

I'm only asking so I know whether to bother getting the iPhone 6 Plus for Christmas like as the last thing I'd want to happen is a newer model be released 3-5 months later. Ok it's quite annoying having the iPhone 5s right now but I'd hold off for a few months more if it meant having the flagship device again.

I said straight up here, likely first 3 years ago that Apple did not want to release a phablet in order to maximise small phone and tablet sales.

Steve Jobs knew the exact business model. Timing is everything but with fans having decried the need for pretty much everything, risk of failure was slight .
I was shocked by the audacity of the 4s and the 5s but when you think about it, it is the vocal fans who really helped keep them so small for so long.

Yeah, keeping up with the line that nobody needed anything bigger did help Apple keep with a small screen for so long.

Funny how you now see so many people with not only a new iPhone, but the iPhone 6 plus. I obviously don't know the exact split, but nevertheless a LOT of people have now decided that the larger model is the one for them.

It's mad that it took Apple so long, but now that it has, they seem to be selling like hot cakes.

My dad, who had his 5s replaced recently and has now got one that can't hold a signal, is now thinking of getting the 6 or 6 plus depending on how much it will cost to upgrade early. I have to say it's great when you have a problem with an Apple product; you don't say 'Never touching them again' but instead say 'It's broken, so time to buy the new model'.

I did the same with my iMac after having issues (now have the iMac Retina) and did the same with both a MacBook Pro and MacBook Air in the past. Bet Samsung doesn't have that degree of loyalty (it can't as it's losing marketshare all the time)!

If you wanted an iPhone, until the 6 plus you could not buy a larger screen phone, so I don't understand why you find it funny.

I would imagine that just like any other users, some with iPhones would buy a bigger screen, some wouldn't. Actually, I don't imagine, sales figures back that up, phatlets don't make up the majority of mobile sales by a long way.

If Apple releasing a larger phone hits sales records, it would suggest they got the timing exactly right.

Oh, the irony.

How can you "understand the word" when you don't even know what it means.

LOL

Using a word when you don't really know what it means makes you look a fool.

Does this make any sense. Is every one who buys an iPhone on the same upgrade cycle then. You could not make this stuff up

And it make you look even more slanderous.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slander
"is the communication of a false statement that harms the reputation of an individual person,"

If you seem to think a slight grain of truth in a reply means it is not slander you are sadly mistaken.
tdenson could help you out on that. He described calico very well so whilst he has a professional interest in Apple, at times he does actually onlook too. Calicos pedantic interest in DRM is his right, and yes pedantic-ism is his trademark. There is nothing wrong in that.

I used that 'slight grain of truth' in working out what happened every time I pandered kidspud with a reply. He near never ever explains his 'slight grain of truth'.

On a logical note, those who got drawn into helping getting would be interesting threads closed, it is worth spotting things like pedantic-ness so as not to bother getting drawn in to close a thread.

Anyway, I gave my opinion on what the 7 might be. Away from political nature of wanting to undermine an opinion, can we actually get back to opinions of what the 7 or even 6s might be ?

No, of course not. The point was that most people don't upgrade every year.

Why is people buying a larger iPhone instead of a smaller iPhone a problem for Apple?

How is selling some smaller iPhones and no larger iPhones better for Apple than selling both?

I'm unable to explain my 'slight grain of truth' because I still don't know what you are talking about.

And you do far more than pander. I think entertain would be a better word.

Maybe, maybe not still makes no sense. It is logical to assume - given a 2 year cycle - that 50% upgrade in alternate years.

So i still have no idea what your point was.

Anyhow, getting back to the original question. I would expect to see a September release of a 6s, and as someone else said, considering the continued success of the 5s, they could upgrade that to a 6c (to replace the other one of their successful selling phones, the 5c).

Do we if my game is trying to get clarity when someone says something I either don't agree with, or which I believe is not clear, then yes, we do.

However, I wouldn't call it a game, I call it participating in a forum conversation.

Participate? I found you have never replied to any answer apart from a 'No' alluding to some slight grain of truth that is never divulged.
And what's in the game of repeatedly asking questions you have had answered in the past, both by me and others ?

I could have sent you an IM but obviously you cant receive an Android IM in iMessage. (joke)
