Kendra is one of the young'uns though. Could be a midlife crisis as it's just the 3 oldies she has any problems with

It seems to me that Mel picks on people who she doesn't think will snap back. She's snapped at Michael, and Vicki, for what seems to me so reason at all, and they are both strong characters but not confrontational. She never gave Jimmy short shrift, or Kendra come to that and both of them would have bitten her head off if she had.

You are right actually. She has had her issues with the elder camp mates. Even when the young 'uns load her gun - she still doesn't fire. Yet the older ones get it in the neck.

Can't recall you saying that when Foggy did the same thing when he was first one out early on.

Mel having another strop again. Why wont she let someone else have a go at cooking. She's very annoying and seems so full of anger

I think Mel took it really badly earlier on in the series when either Vicki or Edwina said they should put forward one of the younger ones for a trial. She went on about being fit and I think it really irked her that she was in the category of 'older'.

Mel really annoyed me tonight.

She wants everyone to be grateful, she can't take advice, and she moans and bitches about any comments made.

I'd like Edwina to chew her out. She acts like a bossy, controlling, insecure teenager.

Starting to see these domestic abuse stories in a new light, she seems like a ticking time bomb and anything could set her off.

She's such a hypocrit, everytime someone tries to add anything to the cooking she's quick to snap, then when someone else is doing something and she jumps in, they tell her where to go and she goes mental.

Bossy and naggy

I seem to remember, early on in the show, Mel actually drew attention herself to her age. Not that being in your 40s makes you physically unfit, of course.

Exactly why does she have to do the cooking all the time, why not let someone else have a go.

She seems to be losing popularity every day, and rightly so. Nasty piece of work who snaps at those she perceives as weaker and is a big hypocrite to boot. Hopefully she leaves soon

I know she can't help it but with the gauntness in her face at the moment when she gets annoyed she looks a bit demented or deranged and her eyes seem to pop out on stalks. She kinda frightens me.

I liked Melanie Sykes before this series. I want her out before she annoys me too much more.

Calling others passive aggressive.....pot, kettle, black Mel!!

Exactly.

She wasn't happy when they were picking girls and went for the young ones for one of the trials. I can't remember what it was but she objected saying she was super fit and got her own way.

She needs to let someone else do the cooking and stop moaning.

You know what? I have been the victim of people sitting there making comments but not coming right out and saying anything to me directly. Mel walks away which is the best thing to do. She hasn't screamed and yelled at anyone. It is what I gave done myself and either bitched about it to someone close to me or usually let it fester and affect me in other ways.

No one is perfect; they are all on top of one another down there and there are some extremely strong, very opinionated people ... Of course conflict is going to happen.

So she is the one who has taken on the cooking; it tends to become 'your thing' in close situations like that. It's your 'reason' for being there if you will and I would guess that any threat to that is a threat to your equilibrium.

She certainly isn't the first cook to get a little 'precious' about the role in the jungle and she won't be the last. And when the girls were without her, isn't that when the cooking went to pot (pardon the pun)? No one knew what the heck to do. So why are they all moaning and complaining when they couldn't do it themselves anyway and rely on her for a well-cooked meal?

At last a post I can agree with. I like Mel, she is doing well. She has said others can cook and instead they just sit commenting how bad she is. getting up and walking away is the best thing to do, generally she seems to get along with the others fine, Michael even described her as the cook. It will be interesting to see how they get on if Mel is voted out, I don't think it will be for a while because she is quite popular except on this forum.

Mel is the passive aggressive one ,she is struggling to keep a lid on her anger .

Huh. I thought keeping a lid on your anger would be a GOOD thing rather than exploding and making things uncomfortable for everyone.

Silly me.

And I do like a good label. Or a bad one.

Only with certain people. She thought the sun shone out of Jimmy's backside, and no one in there could be more annoying. She seems to have a problem with older people.

I liked her before the show but not now.

She's poor spirited and snipes when it's unnecessary. Whinge machine and way too touchy. She's the one who's creating the tension at mealtimes - it doesn't have to be that way.

Of course it doesn't. She only had to say 'do you mean for about a minute with the octopus Edwina'? How long do you think?

Like with the hare, she didn't know what to do, and she vocalised that as if asking for help, but then was really touchy when Edwina offered a suggestion.

Unnecessary and annoying.
