I was having another look earlier to see if there's any word on the actual film soundtrack itself, because if it's a spin-off from these two beautiful tracks, I want IN!

Can't you just do what everyone else does and get an mp3 off a simple Google search? Instead of all this oh i have to go on Itunes, I have to get my credit card out, I simply must pay for this invisible digital file that i can't see or hold in my hands.

Telling people to steal in an argument to make the ones who actually pay for songs look bad is quite a cheap shot, no?

Personally I do download stuff from YouTube but when it's an artist I like, I usually rip it from YT (or download the itunes versions from blogs that have it) and then when it's released here, I'll buy it.

Why not support your favourite artist? Afterall, I only have about three I shell out for

Anyone who observed the Eminem/Lana thread recently would surely realise that poster hazydayz seems intent on provoking a furious response with virtually every post he makes. Always best to avoid such unsubtle baiting imo....

Anyway, loving both these songs. And the film looks worth watching as well (apparently some of the things that actually happened were left out of the film due to them being almost unbelievable (duct tape anyone? )...

Lana has been nominated for a golden globe for Big eyes

Excellent news! Thanks for the info, LM. I always get the feeling once Lana wins one of these 'big' awards (and it WILL happen) it will start an avalanche of them. Some people (seemingly including the people who make up the judging panels on these things) have long memories (I'm talking about SNL, the frankly ludicrous authenticity debates blah blah blah) but she's winning over the doubters slowly but surely. Being saying it for a long time, she is one of the current music industry's biggest talents.

Incredible what she has accomplished in the just over 3 years since this thread appeared:

Wasn't Y&B also nominated for a golden globe? I'll try to remain cautiously optimistic..

And the Golden Globes nominations are of course usually very good indicators of who will get the nod for the Oscar nominations. Not that I get excited by those kind of kind of things... oh no... (I of course fully reserve the right to hypocritically get the starry eyed excitement if she does get the Oscar nomination ).

But yes its very good indeed to see she's getting some richly deserved recognition at last. Nice one Lana!

Lana's made the 79 song "shortlist" for the Oscars again:

Lets see if she goes all the way to the final selection this year.

Thought I'd add this, the soundtrack for 'Big Eyes':

(stream)

I'm too tired to listen now but wonder if there's a few tracks in there that instrumentally spin-off Lana's tracks (Gatsby style).

(I love the last 30 seconds or so of 'I Can Fly', piano reminds me of 'Bel Air')

I am in love with these two beautiful songs. I prefer 'I Can Fly' but it's just brilliant offerings from Lana
