**SPOILER** Christmas Special Results

I was at the Christmas Special last night, and it was fabulous.

It was based around 6 Christmas Panto themes, with some very elaborate costumes.

Sophie Ellis Bextor & Aljaz - Sleeping Beauty - wait until you see Aljaz dressed as Prince Charming!!
Lisa Riley & Robin - Wizard of Oz, with Ian and Natalie joining in as the scarecrow and the lion
Rachel Stevens & Tristan - Peter Pan and Tinkerbell
Russell Grant & Joanne - Aladdin, with poor Russell painted blue. (Natalie popped into this one also)
Louis Smith & Aliona - Jack and the Beanstalk
Chris Hollins & Iveta - Dick Whittington with Iveta in the best cat suit I've ever seen.

Because the filming wasn't live there was a lot of stop/start, mostly with Bruce. The continuity people are facing a challenge!

We saw the end of a big panto feature, where the beginning has been filmed on a real stage somewhere I believe. I'm looking forward to how that looks on Christmas day. Anton makes a fantastic Panto Dame.

All this year's celebs and pros were there except for Pasha and Ola, mostly in the audience. Jake came along later, presumably because of Eastenders commitments, and Sunetra and Brendan made a grand entrance after being on ITT.
Alison never stopped laughing and Kevin never stopped eating!

And the winner was.....

Louis Smith & Aliona

Thank you. Kind of suspected Louis would win. (An observation, not a criticism)

I wonder if that was a popular vote or was Louis' dance the best. Shame Ola wasn't there as she's my favourite. Thanks for spoiler

In my opinion he was the best. But they were all good.

Poor poor Rachel she is the eternal Strictly come Dancing bridesmaid. Girl can't catch a break can she?

I bet if they did an all stars series she will still finish second

Was it weird seeing so many past celebs with the 'wrong' pros? I loved Louis and Flavia's weary big sister, fidgety little brother relationship.

Fantastic description - really looking forward to seeing it.

Not surprised that Louis and Aliona won given the competition.

It was weird seeing Chris Hollins doing his famous "swimmer" move with someone other than Ola. But Iveta, as a beautiful cat, was a good substitute.

A oh dear another missed opertunity to see Sophie's famous Charleston, but I suppose Chris wasn't very good at anything else.

Anyway I have long held the opinion that Sophie deliberately sabotaged her chances of winning on the live show with the Latin she was weakest at showmance. I suspect she never wanted to win, do the show by all means but don't win. 😃

Thanks for this. It sounds wonderful. I'm pleased for Aliona. She's been like a cat that got the cream on Twitter about Louis. You see? She can behave when she gets exactly the young, physically fit contender she wants. I particularly can't wait to see Aljaz as 'Prince Charming Aljaz' is No.38b)iii on my Weird Aljaz Sex Fantasies List.

Oddly I can't remember a single one! They were all well-known Christmas songs, which I hummed all the way home, but I cannot remember who danced to what.

I do know that Bruce sang Winter Wonderland, with 4 of the best pro dancers in the world gently bobbing beside him and trying not to look taller than him!

If Aliona comes back next year I'm hoping she is given a pass out of the codge zone. No offence to gentlemen of a certain age but she has more than done her duty in that direction and Pasha always gets a biddy pass so it's a bit mean to lumber her with partners who will struggle to get to week three - if they are lucky lol

Louis Smith.

I wanted Rachel or Sophie to win.

I'm looking forward to this, more than the normal show really, although I kind of wish there were no former winners in the line-up. I did want Sophie and Aljaz to win. I bet they both look gorgeous. Also, I'll have to keep my eyes on Robin and away from Lisa at all times!

What I mainly want to know is did Craig give Sophie an overdue 10 at last? I bet he didn't.

Thanks for the spoiler.
