You know Pet, the difference between Pixie and the contestants you mention would be about 20 years on average. Maybe Pixie should have held back till 2034 - may Strictly still be going strong! - as I dare say we were all a little pastel at her age.

I think Pixie combines technique and performance in a way that few celebs have in the past.

Alesha had performance, but her Latin technique was pretty dreadful a lot of the time IMO. Others like Rachel, Kara and Natalie had good technique, but were dull to watch most of the time. Again, that is just my opinion!

I think Pixie is the most complete dancer they have ever had on the show, yes. That being said, all that ballet training is fantastic basis for some of the ballroom dances but her legs look a bit bandy and awkward in the faster latin and Charleston.

I don't think all the extra ballet moves she is apparently including for Darcey will endear her to the public, so she needs to be careful about that IMO.

It's funny, but despite having all the ingredients to be one of the best dancers ever (notice how we always talk about Pixie, rather than Pixie and Trent being one of the best partnerships), I would rather rewatch Kara and Chelsee on loop than watch many of Pixie's dances back, bar her Paso.

Natalie was better. I just think that the Pixie - Trent combo works much better than the Natalie - Artem combo worked last year.

Now, that I would agree with.

Trent is a pretty sharp SCD operator - excellent choreography, showcases his celeb. (more than any pro. I can recall), and as his pro dance with Natalie (Lowe) a few weeks back showed, a brilliant dancer.
He also has quite a dry sense of humour ("thanks, Wardrobe")

As a team they are certainly up there with Kara/Artem, Alesha/Matthew and Jill/Darren.
(I don't include Natalie/Artem in that list, because by last year Artem only seemed interested in wafty pseudo-balletic routines.)

I would have loved to have seen then routines Artem would have come up with if Natalie hadn't jiggered her back. I think necessity meant they were only operating at about half power after jive week.

I would disagree with this - at times Pixie and Trent can seem like two brilliant dancers, rather than a partnership. It's something they can improve on, though - and some sense of improvement/breakthrough would be excellent to boost Pixie's chances of winning, imo.

I found Natalie and Artem a turn-off but acknowledge they were good dancers.

I wasn't on the forum prior to then, but I'm pretty certain this won't just be a three-season pattern!

One big exception. Natalie and Pixie are a hell of a lot more likeable than Denise.

I disagree entirely, I've never got a true sense of partnership from Pixie and Trent. I may be slightly influenced by the fact I'm one of the seemingly few who doesn't rate Trent at all, but I don't see any kind of connection that elevates their partnership to the heights of the others you listed.

If we're judging purely on partnership, Pixie and Trent probably wouldn't make my top 20, and the likes of Chris and Ola, Mark and Iveta and even Dave and Karen would rank above them!

I think this is impossible to judge, unless you have seen every series and have a clear memory of each one. Even then, distance can lend enchantment to the view. I have my own favourites from the past - and they were not all winners. So far as Pixie is concerned, she is OK. A good dancer, certainly, but a bit bland for me. But then I am decades older than the OP, though I do remember what it was like to be a teenager with a crush. Nothing wrong with that - though not wise to trail your coat too much

Imo Natalie is the best ever and I like Pixie, funny how they both got so much criticism can't think why.

Natalie was a better dancer, as far as the SCD dances go, Pixie is too balletic for my tastes. Pixie is very good and has tons of potential but for me, Natalie ticked most of the boxes. A Very accomplished dancer all around.

That's an opinion, really. For instance I would disagree and say that Frankie is the best celebrity Strictly ever saw but that's just what I think, personally.

Just so. Technically I can see she's extremely skilled, but she puts about as much feeling into her dances as Judy put flexibility!
