Thursday 25th December - Christmas Day
Mick tells Linda he doesn’t want to discuss what she told him today. The rest of the Carter’s are in party mood but there is tension in the air when presents are opened. As they get ready for dinner, Dean and Stacey arrive at the Vic. Mick immediately explodes and begins punching Dean before Lee pulls him off. Shirley is confused as to what has happened. Linda tells Dean to get out but begins shouting to tell everyone what she’s done. He tells everyone that he and Linda had a one night stand. Mick is infuriated more and chases Dean onto the Square. As Dean runs off, Mick breaks down crying. He storms back into the Vic, grabs a chair and begins smashing the place. Linda runs upstairs scared. Nancy asks her if its true which freaks Linda out. She begins packing. Mick cuts his hands and collapses into a heap on the floor. Lee and Stan go to his aid. Lee asks over if its true what Dean said. Mick tells them that Dean raped Linda. Ian is happy to have his family around for Christmas. Martin and Sonia drop presents off before heading off to Carol’s. When the Branning’s arrive, there are looks to each other as Emma is also with them. Cindy is happy she can now open her own and Beth’s Christmas presents. Beth begins to cry so Cindy fetches her favourite teddy. When Cindy drops it she hears a crack, and upon inspection finds a listening device inside - someone’s been listening in on the Beale house. Dinner is ruined as Emma comes under fire, but is she to blame? Yvonne is cooking dinner as Nick reminds Dot, Yvonne, Ronnie and Charlie that the deadline is upon them. With no money to hand, he toasts ‘the final supper’. At the dinner table, Ronnie and Charlie begin setting the table and discuss what they plan to do - call Nick’s bluff. Ronnie opens a bottle of prosecco and pours five glasses where everyone is going to be seated. Charlie, Ronnie, Yvonne and Dot all pass through several times as they bring the food in from the kitchen. Which one of them has poisoned Nick’s drink? As the family sit down for Christmas dinner, Nick sneers as he downs his prosecco. As they continue to eat, he begins to slur his words before gasping for air. As he falls to the floor, Dot panics and wants to call 999. Charlie kneels down to help his father but its evident for all that Nick is dead. - Cliffhanger. |

The Carters are in shock after finding out Linda was raped. Linda is horrified at Mick’s destruction of the Vic. As the pair talk things over, Lee turns to drink to try and blank out what his dad told him. Linda says she wants to go away to her Mum’s for a while, and Mick agrees to come too. Ian threatens to go to the police unless Emma begins explaining herself. Emma is adamant that she had nothing to do with the listening device and storms off. With the Brannings gone, Ian goes to call the police by Jane tells him not to. Later, Jane smashes the listening device and puts the pieces in the bin. - Cliffhanger.
