A frying pan on her nut if I was in there. It's apparent to everyone that she is stroppy and unstable. She ruins every night with her adolescent behaviour. Really bored with her constant attention seeking. I hope she goes soon. The camp would be so much better and happier without her. And she would be happier too. Win win IMO.

It would be a travesty if she won .

She has been a let down. Early on she was the ideal camp mate, capable, strong, funny and caring. Now she has become the ultimate worse camp mate. I hope she does not win. The rampant ego she was able to suppress early doors would be bigger than Australia.

Agree. Considering they are stuck with each other, Mel is the equivalent of 'a neighbour from hell'. She is definitely someone they do not want. Who wants to relax at meal time/relaxation time (so valuable) with someone so bitchy etc.

Oh I'll hazard a guess that the beautiful and lovely Vicki and clever Edwina most certainly are not jealous of sour & unlikeable Melanie Sykes. Why would they be.
Melanie's behaviour has been appalling in that camp. She is insufferably patronising, sulky & deeply moody & stroppy. All the others are walking on eggshells with her. Shes real alright, a real pain in the ar*e! Big style.

Please please let Mel get the boot tonight. She is such a sour faced miserable sulky cow, she drains all the fun out of it and I can't stand to watch her any more !!!!!!!

I agree with you she has been a real disappointment. For me its EDWINA for the WIN. Edwina has come across as a really lovely woman, kind, warm and funny. My initial thoughts of Edwina when I heard she was going in was that she would be boring but my goodness how wrong I was in fact MEL is the boring one, the only time I see her smiling and looking like she might be enjoying herself is when she is flirting with Jake - very off-putting for me given her age.

Yes agree, Mel has nothing that Vicki and Edwina would be jealous of. Get BORING MEL OUT!!

On the first few days I thought she was gonna be brilliant. I really couldn't understand why Joe Swash was so negative and a bit snipey about her (it was almost like he knew something we didn't) I think he probably knows her from TV - I have heard she has a bit of a reputation.

She didn't manage to keep her inner self disguised for very long did she? What a difficult/nasty/spiteful/spoilt person.

She does have that bunny boiler psycho look about her. The sort of lass who's as sweet as pie one minute then tearing you a new one the next. She's definitely getting more and more wound up as time goes on and the mask slips. Would love to see her go postal with Edwina over the correct way to boil some meat and it end in fisticuffs, celebrity deathmatch style.

See now I never understand that comment, "but she's real", so what you're saying is the others in there who show a modicum of good manners and don't snap back at her aren't 'real'. Why shouldn't they have a bit of input into the preparation of the meal, it's the highlight of their day and ALL of them are on a level footing, just because she's taken it on herself to do the cooking, doesn't mean that someone else couldn't, she's no more special than the rest of them, but she obviously thinks she is.

Of course that's something Edwina would never do, flirt with a younger man. someone young enough to be her grandson. You are watching the same programme that I'm watching aren't you

I agree with you. This "real" tag that is given to folk is usually a cover for downright bad behaviour (Mouthy & Stroppy) and or a larger lady who has "curves"...i.e. A real woman

It needs to be abolished

I think she went in there with the intention of rehabilitating her reputation a bit, so she has been trying to project a "cool girl" image- that she's beautiful but down to earth, can be a lad but also is a capable woman in the tasks, and she can cook. All that's got to be a bit of a strain.

I noticed that she put Jake down quite firmly " I just don't fancy you, you're very handsome but you are not my type" ( looks like her crappy ex to me). Also that when she didn't cook and Foggy took over, several people said that nights food was the best they'd had.

Agree - she was fine at the beginning, but I never realized how bitter she is.

It seems that the campmates were and are too worried about upsetting Mel to suggest that someone else has a chance to cook. Foggy can obviously cook well, Vicky said that she cooks a lot at home and probably others might as well.
I can't see any reason for Mel to have been the camp cook other than that she claimed the job and has been obssessive about it ever since. She had no clue at all, about cooking octopus even though it was suggested correctly to cut it fine and fry it quickly. There was no need to be throwing strops every evening about suggestions from other people. No one knows everything, about cooking so listening, could, be useful, sometimes.
Mel doesn't seem to be able to get on with anyone other than Jake when he's flattering her or Kendra when she's sympathising with her.
Haven't forgotten either how unpleasant she was to Michael, who hadn't upset anyone, in the camp. I think that Mel should have been out days ago.

That woman annoys the hell out of me. I'd rather have the bright young Kendra than her any day. Vickie was much nicer too.

She's a right old bag and should get home to her family (poor things) and stop spoiling IAC.

That certainly isn't what I'd mean if I said she's real. And I do think she's real.

Mel's also great at bringing out so much mind-reading talent. So many know what she thinks, feels, believes, or desires!

How about Edwina?

It's Edwina who's ruining it for me. The sooner she's gone, the better.

At the beginning I thought she'd be like Myleene Klass, good humoured, strong and capable - I really wasn't expecting the stroppy person who's been on our screens for the last couple of weeks. I always liked her on Des and Mel. Just shows how a public persona can be so different from the real person.

I don't dislike her, but I see her differently than how I used to.

This just about sums up how I feel about her too, I can't say I dislike her, but I find her voice grating and I never did before. Like you said, she is completely different to how I had perceived her before, and I don't like the stroppiness and petulance in her. She just seems determined to be annoyed by everyone at cooking time.

And as Kian said last night it's everyone's food, not just hers and no-one has the right to have sole control over what happens to it. He respected and listened to his camp mates last year when he was the main cook. This is nothing but a controlling power trip for Mel.
