Unlocking a T Mobile phone
Tidosho
05-12-2014
Renewed the wife's contract last week and in the process changed to EE. I now wish to unlock the old phone and pass it on.

T Mobile can't do it because I no longer have an account with them?? Does anyone know the best way to go about it or is a back street shop the easiest? The phone is an Xperia J, over two years old.

As long as your account was in good standing when you terminated they will still unlock the handset.

You can do it via the unlock page:

Ask them to raise the unlocking action against the EE account, explaining it's the handset that was on T-Mobile previously. That's all the info they need and they will unlock the handset.
