The snakes in Mel's box never moved from the right hand corner. Watch it back. I'm sure they were rubber snakes! Whereas Kendra had all sorts of worms and cockroaches land on her. Very biased in Mel's favour

Depends on what your biggest fear is. I said to my husband I would rather be in with the snake and he said he would rather be in with the bugs.
Yes I understand that, but my point is....the snakes weren't even moving! My fear is rats yet if I was in a box with them and they weren't moving, I would be fine
The only thing more difficult about Kendra's role was that she had both sets of pieces, but then she was pretty much told how to do it. An easy challenge if you could control any fear element.
The last time I saw a snake on TV I fainted - my phobia of them is that strong. I wouldn't be bothered by the little critters though. I never watch the BTTs in case there are snakes on them, I just shut my eyes until it's obvious that they're finished.

Well not everyones fears are the same . I would freak out if it was in the same room , moving or not

Totally agree. I mean if they were cobras and rattle-snakes maybe there'd be a reason to be a bit scared - but carpet pythons??? Bloody hell - I've walked on actual carpets that had more life in them than they had!

When you have a real pathological phobia of anything (which I have of snakes) that sort of thought doesn't come into it. If they're snakes I just totally freak out, it doesn't matter what sort they are. One morning I was on a packed commuter train going to work. I was reading a newspaper, I turned a page and there was a picture of a snake. That newspaper was out of my hands straight away - I just threw it and the pages went everywhere.

I'm the same with pictures of rats. However that is why I would never enter the jungle......not for a million pounds. But Mel did and received a fee for it

and she has earned her fee, doing some great trials and being a great campmate.
Well done to the girls, that's put Edwina in her place.

Come to think of it - you do have a point! I feel exactly that way when I see a picture of Gary Barlow!
I would find Mel's task a lot harder. I can hardly watch snakes on TV never mind be in an enclosed space with. It doesn't matter of they are not moving, the fear is still the same. It's all relative, no need to discredit people who've conquered their fears

a bit like tinchies trial last night when they told him where the stars were and to search behind his foot on the floor and the star was on a screw in the guts
