Add crap trials/tasks to the op and I think we have the worst series for a very long time.

I think it's the fifth time this series. It might even be the sixth.
How long has the series been on?

Me too. Some comments on here beg the question "why watch it then?"

Just because someone criticizes an aspect of a TV show doesn't mean that they shouldn't watch all of it.

The phone calls were either from where all the background crew are or possibly from the Versace which is about 3 miles away

Seriously they already got a few letters from home and some of them even met their friends/family in person. They are only in the jungle for three f**king weeks it really isn't that long (some of them are in there for even less depending on when they arrived and left the jungle).

Why the hell do they need to have phone calls too, are they not leaving in a couple of days???. Not to forget some of the OTT reactions from some of these campmateds e.g. Melanie, Kendra, Vickie etc. Sorry but if they are that emotional or finding it hard to cope then they shouldn't be there in the first place. I don't mean to sound harsh or anything but all this i am missing my family business is getting quite boring and tedious .

Its the first time in years I've enjoyed it and watched every episode, plus IACGMOOHNow!! Recorded when I've been out. Watched in the early hours. Yes, I think family should be left out of it - they start thinking they're the stars! Vicky Michelle's daughter certainly loves the attention. The trials are too focussed on bugs and eating crappp. And I think they should limit the amount of trials one person can be put up for. I've enjoyed the mix of characters, chopped and changed my mind by the day, and am now hoping for a Foggy/Jake final. Mel has been exactly as I thought, controlling and tense, uptight and miserable. The turn around has been Kendra who seems like a lovely, funny woman, and the disaster was Gemma Thingy who cut and ran after three days. A good show, and a very funny, albeit chaotic aftershow. Fingers crossed for bye bye Mel tomorrow.

I'd have to agree that it's been done to death this series. This wouldn't be as much of a problem if the segments were remotely interesting (celeb misses person, person says how well they're doing, celeb becomes emotional wreck, repeat ad nauseam).

Although the 'cast' hasn't really been much to crow about I do think the tasks have been really good as have the Bush Tucker Trials. I think they've been on a totally different level this year - the past two or three series have overdone the eating tasks .....personally I really don't like them and one or two should be enough.

As for letters and contact from home .............I rather like it. All the family are out there anyway - why not bring them in from time to time?

It has been shown in previous series, that the families and
loved ones are in fact only about half a mile away, in the
'production camp' where the food tent is,and no doubt
Ant and Dec's personal 'Trailers'.
When a celeb is evicted, they have been shown going to
Dr Bob for a quick check up, then heading right into the
food tent and loading up with bacon and eggs! The families
are often in the food tent too,or as I said only in a tent or
building next to it! So I would guess the phone calls were
made from that area, under the supervision of the crew!

Whilst it isn't one of the best series - it certainly isn't the worst and at least its a massive improvement on last year so I'd say that I've enjoyed this series too. I would say though - that the challenges have been a lot easier this year (especially the Live Trial) but then again - I can't stand it when the trials are so difficult that you know the producers want people to fail). I do prefer the stamina trials to the eating and bugs ones (I loved the Boulder Dash one - and wish they had more of these). I prefer the dingo-dollar challenges to the trials too - but wish once they've been successful - they'd just get the reward instead of then having to rely on a correct answer to a question.

They didn't seem to mind though did they? As I'm sure Tinchy wouldn't have minded had he not got a call. The other three seemed to be just wet-nellies who would have cried into the creek had they not spoken to anyone.
