Can't believe nobody is talking about this. Many of us are finding Mel unlikeable. Have we missed something?

They only show the worst bits. Hence why everyone in the camp loved Jimmy and yet all the moaners on here labelled him a bully.

Kendra and Mel have always been close, so no surprises there.

Tinchy seemed very reluctant to choose, but I get the impression that he is not a fan of heavy flirting (Edwina and Jake); and Foggy was always Jimmy's man, just as Michael was his. (Did I dream it btw, or did Michael say he wanted Jake to win?)

They both agree with me Mel for the win or foggy I don't mind

How people come across on shows like this is all down to the edit with a 24hr life feed you would get a clearer picture but the edit would still skew things, but it would not be as manipulated as much as it is now.....

Mel must be doing something right in there among her campmates to have got a thumbs up from Kendra and Tinchy. As I'd value Tinchy's word above most people - I'd have to say that ITV are deliberately picking out Mel's moaning. It was the same last year - most people on here thought Lucy was a bitch (thanks to the unfavourable editing) and yet most of the campers said she was the hardest working, most easy to get on with of all of them. The unfavourable editing of Lucy the Witch was nicely juxtapositioned with the favourable editing of Amy the Saint.

As someone has said - its all in the editing and what the program makers want you to see.

Totally agree. They know a side of her that we are not seeing and, as a strong woman who knows her own mind, she is now suffering the backlash from viewers who loathe strong women with an opinion. They'll side with what they see as 'the nice, ordinary bloke' instead.

Edwina is not strong, so much as a pushy, self opinionated old bore, but people will think how great she is for her age *eye roll* etc. etc.

Mel has more integrity and guts, but has now reached the limit of her patience with Edwina and the backbiting. Edwina is an insufferable old witch. She was when she was in politics too

They want Mel to win because neither of them have been the recipient of Mel's angry tongue. Neither of them have got involved when she is cooking whereas Edwina and Jake have. I really hope Mel goes tonight.

Did we ever see anything like Mel's daily nasty behaviour from Lucy?

I also never thought of Lucy as a bitch.

Mel's decline started with Michael and hasn't stopped, towards the older campmates.

Kendra and Tinchy don't fall into that category.

I am pleased that Kendra and Tinchy want Mel to win, it just shows that she is nowhere near as bad as many on DS would have us believe.

I agree about Lucy too, it seems ITV have picked Mel out as this year's Lucy. I am asking myself is it worth watching any of these RTV shows anymore.

Doesn't mean we have to share the same opinion just cos they all like her.

I got "told" last year that I had to like Lucy cos all the campmates adored her

Totally agree. The programme makers having been looking for a big row and have been using Mel. Interesting to me was when Edwina said she just wanted Mel to like her when she was talking to Vicki, why would she want that if she thought Mel was that awful.

Because Edwina is pretty cool and would rather friendly debate and constructive exchange than spiky defensiveness and the resulting tension that Mel dishes out.

I don't mind 'strong women who know their own minds'. It's Mel's habit of going into a big sulk if her control of the food is challenged that is driving me a bit nuts.

"Ooh, I'm not sure about this."
"Why don't we do x?"

"Do you want to do it? You do it! See if I care!"

[takes to her bed]

[Monologue} "Moan, moan, but I don't mind! Moan, moan, it's quite all right! But moan, moan..."

We all know, and are reminded every year, that the person who controls the food has power in the camp. It takes a kind of relaxed generosity to be the best cook but not resent sharing the power around. And I don't think she has it.

i'm afraid it's a legal requirement to adore Mel so you can sssh and get back to braising octopus until it's like ageing boot leather...

We ignoring her comments about only needing a man for sex then? And what about her history of domestic abuse?

She meant at the moment, she said maybe if someone came along in the future she would give it a go. What on earth does the abuse have to do with this show?

Because she was talking about Mel having integrity, which she quite clearly does not have

I didn't say that, just that Mel is quite clearly a nasty woman and has no integrity at all. Very embarrassing that the British public have kept her in this long

I haven't voted either but I think someone who cheats on their partner is a damn sight better than a domestic abuser

We have only heard one side of the abuse story and it shows a lot about him when he waited until she went into the jungle to tell his side. She's well rid of him.

How on earth do you get a " just wanted Mel to like her" out of that?
