It has been mentioned on several threads that this has been a dull old series. It has also been mentioned that the producers read this forum so should we not compile a handy list of what we think will improve the next series?

I will kick off -

Make sure that the celebs really are celebs - no more reality show people, particularly if they have only been around for 5 mins ( i.e Jake). We don't need to know them all - for instance, a lot of people won't have known Michael but would have known Tinchy, and vice versa. But who knew Nadia?

Get rid of Swash and his side kicks from the spin off prog.

But don't change Ant and Dec.

No just end it now...it's been stagnated for years, call it quits now it has run it's course.

Why should they? The viewing figures are still good. And I don't really agree with the OP either. I don't like scripted reality tv people because they are always playing up to their marketable persona, but I don't mind the odd x-factor person or similar. A good mix is what we need: a couple of musicians, a couple of sports people, some unexpected gifts; as long as it does not degenerate into towie and (shudder) Benefits Street people it's fine.

My main suggestion will always be that no one should do two consecutive trials. It became really wearisome this year when Kendra got so many: she was annoying and dull in all of them. And it was really over-egging it to have two episodes with letters from home and one with phone calls. And thirdly, I do think the dinners should be nice. They are really hungry, work hard for those stars, and shouldn't be faced with something they all think tastes disgusting.

Apart from that, I think all is well.

Far too much communication with loved ones this year with Jimmy, Foggy & Vicki getting to see their loved ones, everyone getting letters from home or a variation of this (the care packages) twice and the phonecalls from loved ones. Lose some of these communications.

Nobody allowed to do two consecutive Bushtucker Trials.

Stop splitting the campmates into two teams from the start and let them integrate together from day one. Poor Craig's experience this year was of being in the slammer, having moaning minny Gemma in his ear then he was in the overnight trial with Nadia. When he finally got to go into the main camp he sadly had to leave due to a family bereavement so he never got to live the proper jungle experience.

This series was dull, for the most part. It's so sad and such a shame poor Craig left early. I feel the dynamics in the camp would have been so different- for the better- had he stayed. Also I think it's terrible that Gemma came and went in a heartbeat. Yes, she is annoying but that annoyance to me, would have been entertaining. As it is we had a lot of people playing it safe and either snapping, sulking or generally being dull.

I still love the show BUT if producers can't convince relavant or exciting celebs to enter, then maybe it is time to call it a day. Also as was mentioned up thread, let each camp mate have a go at the trials so if someone has done one, they should be exempt from doing another for a day or two. That way we really get to see what EVERYONE is made of in there.

Definitely change the trial voting so we don't have the same person every day, need to get to know other celebs, this was the Kendra show for 2 weeks.

Didn't camp life used to be tougher too? No make up for the ladies. Nadia had nail polish on for the duration that looked like it was being reapplied. Vicki's eyelashes etc. did they still do the one luxury item bit? I have missed a few programmes which I was not bothered about, usually I like to watch it all.

Make the camp rules stricter with regard to luxury items
Have more stamina trials
Introduce a rule that once a campmate has done a trial - they are exempt from being nominated for the next one
Don't split the camp for the sake of immunity - this year we ended up with four of the most interesting people at risk whilst there were three dead-wood contestants immune
Make the meals that have been won actually edible (I mean that bat they had to eat last night was just bloody awful)
Don't 'pimp' one campmate that you think needs to be made into a star - share the airtime
Less of 'celebrities' that are only semi-famous for being in reality shows

tbh it's the same old thing year after year, they can dress up the tasks as much as they like but it's not fooling anybody. Plus, Ant and Dec's jokes are very predictable and corny. The only thing that makes the show worth watching is a good selection of celebs, and this year's were fairly dull.

Make it so that trials are allocated to everyone from day one and each will undertake their slot in some way/system.

Food is won on a basis of how well each trial was conducted regardless of how many stars were located by that person based in the true spirit of being in the jungle,a system of doing this would have to be sorted.

No messages from home,its only a few days after all.

Cooking is shared on a rota system regardless of how good a cook they are,everyone is given a chance.

Trials have become too sophisticated,there is no need for this,keep things simple.

Cut down on the over use of animals/critters/bugs there is too much trampling going on,plenty of scary things without the use of animals.

Celebrities must be those that have been around for a certain number of years,no ego orientated X-Factor wannabees or those not prepared to climb the celebrity ladder the hard way.

Too much time in the jungle not doing anything sitting around,fill their days with activities jungle art classes,workouts,building things and keeping busy,show the viewers what they have been doing in between trials,there is too much boredom going on.

No availability of things like cigarettes or luxury items which appear to be on the increase.

Points awarded for whinging and whining,reach a certain number and its over the bridge and out !
Ditto for expletives which are not acceptable.

More surprise tasks in store for those in the jungle,add variety with no expectations.

Come on producers get around the desk and sort this out for next year,the current format is flogged to death and needs re-vitalising there is so much scope for new ideas.

People cost more money the more well known they are, they can only have the well known high earners because they have the lesser known low earners.

Agreed but they really trawled the ocean bed for this one ! would there be two fees,one to personally appear and the other for the show itself ?

Rumours are two celebrities puled out late on - that certainly explains Jake as, until a few weeks prior to the show starting, he wasn't available to go in. That may explain the scrabbling to find people at last notice and, therefore, lesser names entering.

I didn't know that, Fudd - it would explain why they didn't replace Gemma & Craig, perhaps they had used up their "spares".

ETA - agree wholeheartedly with all Sheila Blige's points.

They can't help that Craig left, who I think would have been very interesting and likeable but likeable in an honest, not-playing-for-the-camera way. He was a big blow. I don't think Gemma going was any loss, it was a relief for me, but she would have brought a different element and she would have probably gone for some of the trials Kendra did. Plus if 2 people dropped out just before, they can't help that either. I think it's been a terrible year, one of the worst, but I think a lot of the reasons for that were out of the control of the producers and not the fault of the format.

I agree on the rule that the person who did one trial can't be up for the next one. That would be a huge improvement. Otherwise, I'd say less messing with the format - I don't think the 'Slammer' or splitting them into the 2 teams for the first eviction were improvements, I think they spoiled things a lot. And more physical, less just dumping bugs on people trials.

My suggestion they'll never do would be simple: don't have a plan of who you want to promote, show a fair amount of everyone. There's been way too much of some and nothing of others. it doesn't help that the ones we see a lot of - Jake, Edwina - are my least favourites.

I agree that the trials need to be spread among all the camp mates especially in the first week. The continual favouring a few and giving them extra air time is blatant and tedious.

More trials that require other skills be it physical like Foggys or puzzles to solve would also help.

I'm really bored with all the critter crap. It's been done to death IMO

Do something about the terrible Swash show , it's unwatchable ....almost.

My point is when micheal Burke is being classed as a lesser known celeb/famous person than tinchy stryder then there is something wrong.

Mark didn't win in a celeb salv mate but I get your point. They are big draws for fans and if they are fairly recent celebs such as x factor contestants then the roll over of viewers and votes should continue

Michael is a 68 year old man who does the news. Tinchy is a 'pop star' for want of a better word. Of course everybody under the age of 30 will class him as more famous, as older people will class Michael as more famous

Thing is, Lauren Goodger (who I had to google) is only known at ALL to people who watch a single programme, as are almost all rtv people. Compare that with someone like Martina Navratilova, who must have been known by a high percentage of the people in the world when she did IAC. (I'm not sure who is the most famous people to have done CBB, but Lauren Goodger would surely be in the bottom half.)

And as I said, I dislike scripted reality contestants on principle, even if they are personally pleasant enough. Their only claim to fame is selling a version of themselves; in order to survive as media figures, they have to keep on and on providing a ramped-up version of their famous persona. Think of (for those who watched it) Spencer Pratt having to keep behaving like a complete arse on CBB; maybe he really is a complete arse, but regardless, that is his unique selling point, and he had to keep contriving 'stories' based round it (which the producers were depressingly willing to help him with). Away from their normal show, 'famous for being famous' scripted rtv people are often very dull personalities, and there is nothing of interest in their lives to tempt the viewer.

The only category that is worse imo is 'has slept with someone famous'. What DO the producers expect? Lots of previously unrevealed sordid details? Come ON.

Totally agree with all of these. I would add that the ITV2 lot need to be replaced especially Joe Swash. Why do they keep him year after year when so many people dislike him. He must be cheap.

The immunity from the vote is also a bad idea, Jimmy should have stayed longer imo.

Ask Craig to come back in one of the future shows.

Share the airtime more equally. I feel this series is such a bore because we haven't had any time to actually get to know the celebs or the dynamics of the camp. Jimmy, Jake, Kendra and Mel have been consistently shoved in our faces from the start, and nobody else has mattered.

This sort of ties in with the above - allow the celebrities to choose who does the Dingo Dollas or any other challenges. The producers choosing is absolutely ridiculous - at least putting the celebrities in control will leave out any underhand tactics (i.e. wanting a certain someone to get more airtime). Much fairer to leave the celebs in charge of making such decisions.

The treats this series is beyond a joke. They're so well fed compared to any other series. They must've had a treat in some shape or form every night! Cut it all out. Isn't this what the Dingo Dollas is there for? To earn them one treat each every night, so stick to that and axe all the other nonsense. Would much prefer to see more of the 'natural' camp action than continuous challenges (if you can call them that) to win treats.

Outside contact - cut it all. No phone calls, no letters, no care packages, no physical contact. It's 22 days, not 22 months. Only bring this trick out for a series if there's a struggle to get some footage together due to boring celebs/bad casting... which, I grant you, this series is. But EVERY NIGHT? FFS - get a grip.

If you really must have an immunity challenge, then have them all compete against each other. Shove them in a box and pour bugs all over them until half of them quit, have them all sit in silence around camp and the first six to talk are up for the first vote... anything that's equal to them all, but doesn't take up THREE episodes just for one night of immunity!

Give AT LEAST one day immunity to the celeb who gets voted for to do a trial.

Make the trials more interesting. Trials that are knowledge based, trials that are endurance, trials that are physical, trials that are memory, trials that are team work... There's so many ideas out there that could be fun AND frightening - it gets boring watching them enter some sort of box and have bugs thrown on them. Don't get me wrong, keep the bugs, but the trials could be way more creative than they are.

That's another thing - you don't drop big names (which she is for a show like this - one of the biggest you'll get since we'll never have the likes of David Beckham or Brad Pitt). Gemma's been on our screens for years and most people will have either heard of her name or know her face; dropping her for someone completely unknown was a ridiculous decision.
