Not sure how much we can take from that, in the earlier series you wouldn't see a 10 until at least week 8.

OP, your heading is absolutely right. If the best dancers always won, Darren Gough and Chris Hollins, for example, would never have lifted the glitter ball.

That's not true at all - the week when the first 10 appeared has been fairly consistent from the beginning.

Series 1 - Week 5
Series 2 - Week 7
Series 3 - Week 6
Series 4 - Week 3
Series 5 - Week 4
Series 6 - Week 7
Series 7 - Week 5
Series 8 - Week 5
Series 9 - Week 4
Series 10 - Week 7
Series 11 - Week 6
Series 12 - Week 6 (not counting Donny)
