This should be a good week for Simon.

Yeah, but only if he gets the votes, which I really hope that he does. He doesn't deserve a fourth time in the dance-off.

Its a difficult dance but Simon has loads of natural rhythm, I'm sure he will be fine, and dance it well.

Hmmmm ... in a two dance scenario? We'll see. Clearly it had better be on fire .. if he wants the votes.

I think its the couples who have the Rumba that could be in trouble.

As we have seen many times before, the dancing always seems to be secondary. The best dancer nearly always does not win. Its a popularity contest and it appears that Simon does not have the support unlike the other celebs.
He will do his best regardless.

He'll be fine... just needs to stick a roll in it

Can't wait... hope he wears something slinky with sexy sequins aka Ramprakash. I wonder if he could show off his 6 pack

In dance values/performance if Jake does a foxtrot he should be odds on to be next out

Kristina seems to be playing a long game when it comes to teaching this year. I wouldn't be at all surprised if she's been working up to the two dance week and has been doing an hour or two on Samba here and there over the last couple of weeks.

Is Caribbean Carnival anything like Brazilian Carnival? The costumes and movement seem similar (although I haven't studied it) but what about the music? Especially the rhythms? Is Calypso anything like Samba? Wikipedia says the origin of both is West Africa ( more specifically around the countries now known as The Congo, Angola and Nigeria), for what that's worth. Is Samba the Latin dance even danced to Samba music? I mean, I would presume so, but hey, this stuff gets weird sometimes!

Can you tell a kind of word association game just went off in my head? Not that Simon's West Indian heritage necessarily means anything in this context, it just all combined and started me down an intellectually curious path!

Well from this we will probably get at least one AT / Rumba and I sure feel sorry for whoever gets it. I think for me that would be the worst combination to do on one night but two of them look as if they are heading that way.

Jake could be shaky in the ballroom as it is definitely not his strong point and the Cha cha cha doesn't rely on performance so much as technical ability

Other than the Samba I think Simon has the easiest for him, closely followed by Caroline. Although Salsa can cause headaches as well with the complex armography and twists and turns, along with the rhythm in the feet to keep going

I think its going to be an interesting evening of dancing

Jake has Viennese Waltz (from Janette's twitter)

Jake and Janette have the Viennese Waltz according to her Twitter. I think the foxtrot, as a potentially more character-based dance, would have been better for him. It's going to be an interesting week for Jake. He's not going to have performance-based and lift-laden routines to fall back on and he will have to go back to basics. In terms of technical ability he isn't going to have an easy ride into the final.

Caroline uploaded this on Instagram.

Not sure how much you can get from that but if that is their music then it sounds more Viennese Waltz than Foxtrot to me.

With Jake (and possibly Caroline) confirmed for VW, does that mean Mark has to have AT?
