I agree with you about the format being stale now.
I also agree with you about your suggestions too..

This is one show that hasn't changed its format. It's the same old things year every year. And for many years it's worked. A tried and tested formula that relies on familiarity.
It hasn't changed because it hasn't needed to. People tune in every year and it gets loads of viewers. So why should they change? Up until now there's been nothing to compel them to.
Not been under threat from the competition, no low ratings, so why bother trying to fix what isn't broken?

But programmes that stick to a formula and don't budge from it ever probably will have an expiry date. It won't be this year, but I do get the sense that the format has gone stale. We're too used to seeing exactly the same things and I just get the sense that although people still tune in, it might be around now when people start losing interest as it may not be the exciting must tune in telly that it used to be.

Kendra drove me nuts with her whining and "it's in me it's in me" and all the pretend shrieking.
Mel started off well in the first trial thing but never stopped moaning and that became like nails on a blackboard and her inability to even attempt to see something from anyone else's point of view was tiresome, as were tedious faux statements like "i'm self sufficient i only need a man for sex...Jake will you sharpen the knife"
i had to get over my aversion to Edwina and her politics and it says something when she was one of the more likeable campmates.....
Jake and Foggy were just meh not interesting but not unbearable (tedious flirting notwithstanding) anyone i haven't mentioned?
well that's why i haven't posted much....there wasn't really much to post about...maybe others felt the same.”

Wow! . Summed it all up for me. Thank you

That's all we are going to be watching in future, reality 'stars'.”

I agree. I think it's the contestents, not the show. Hopefully they will get some more entertaining ones next year.

Sorry to disagree, but i think its the format of the show that's the problem. It's stale and old.

If they are not going to get us first class celebs to perform in their old fashioned show, then they at least need an overhaul of the existing format.

I usually post quite a bit when the shows on but for the first time I've just not got into it as much this year, I've had it on the tv every night but more as background noise really, normally I'd be glued to it then posting in here. I think it's a mixture of dull campmates and a tired format, Ant and Dec have been the best part of this series if it wasn't for them I would have given up.

IMO a lot of the Celebs realise that after watching the show for years that you play the game and don't say anything that is controversial. Last night Vicki said several times that she wanted to tell Mel that she wanted to do some Cooking but did not want to start an argument and that is the problem arguments = discussion. Kendra was controversial and that is why imo she was the most discussed person in the Camp on here.

This season started very strong then it just went downhill (rapidly)

There was no real arguing/bickering this year between many campmates they all seemed to get on a bit too well this year

There was only 1 live trial this season which was disappointing they should have had at least a few, or made them ALL live trials (it just adds more pressure and makes it more entertaining)

Not enough compulsory bushtucker trials where all the contestants have to take part

this is the first series i haven't watched, well okay i watched the intro show and first couple but quickly lost interest. bar the occasional channel hop on for 2-3 mins i've not watched any more of this series and i'm not the least bit bothered which tells me something about me personally and this show ... i.e. unless it's revamped in some shape/form i reckon that's my decade long love affair with this show at an end.

same old same old, is bound to get boring eventually.

I've thought that all along. Just looked at last year. There were approximately 33 pages of threads during the show, this time it's 19 so far! That's a huge difference,350 threads less.

Last year was the worst ever for me and it seems to have put many DS FM's off watching.

Something clearly needs to change and I hope they take notice of viewers opinion.

I don't care who wins as long as it's not Mel. My favourites are gone.

More and more people are using Twitter these days, I have no idea why. I tried it for a while and found it to be repeated jokes, repeated wordplay games and butt-kissing. Got bored.

I guess if you want to follow as many celebs as possible in the hope that one of them finds your pathetic little rambling to be worthy of a retweet, then it's a splendid place to be... otherwise... leave it the little cretins who think that their idols are the ones doing the tweeting, instead of some hired housewife. To think that one-time sex chat queens now spend their days pretending to be 1D and the likes... funny really! I guess "I just got a tweet from Dirty Doris from Deptford" wouldn't really win you any praise.

Or Twitter, there has been plenty of discussion on there.

I think they need a bit of a revamp too though for next year. I'd start with putting them in a proper jungle further away from civilisation!

I used to think that keeping the same format was one of the strengths of the show, it meant that the producers had faith in it. Since they started tinkering with it, splitting the camp into two teams etc, I get the idea that they're running out of star names, and feel they have to get us hooked with "evil twists", as in poor Big Brother RIP. They'll have them in electric suits before long, you mark my words.
The old format would work with genuine celebs, that we want to know more about, and who surprise us by acting differently from the way we expected. Nowadays they stay "in character" all the time, which makes for a dull show, in my opinion.
Thses things have a natural life, and after about series three everyone is too savvy as to how to play the game. That makes for a dull show, as well.
