Thoughts on this series? I think it's been the dullest one yet.

I stopped watching half way through, but just seen it is now out of Foggy, Mel and Jake.

What a dire line up. I just haven't been impressed this year, I think the only hope of a good series would have been Craig Charles.

I look back at the Ashley Roberts year and think it was incredible but this year just has not cut it.

What are your thoughts?

I've actually enjoyed it more than most seem to of, its definitely not as good as some of the previous series but its by no means the worst IMO.

It hasn't been an enjoyable series.

I think you're right about Craig Charles- I bet he would have won, too.

I think the choice of campmates has been poor this year.

Gemma who clearly just wanted exposure and not a challenge- she knew what to expect!

Jake- not a celebrity.

Even Kendra was irritating since she was playing the reality TV game.

The whole letters from family was annoying this year. I think because the campmates weren't that entertaining they had to try and put in a little sob story for us to try and like them all.

The emphasis on certain people during the edit- we didn't get to see much of Tinchy or of Michael.

I agree with you there.

I've enjoyed it, just found the trials to be somewhat same old same. Way too much with the cockroaches and meal worms. Not a great deal of variety going on with the trials this year.

Also it's definitely been the year of 'treats' way too early....The Jaccuzzi, swimming pool, seeing family members, then there was the 'care packs'

All in all I have enjoyed it, though it hasn't ( for me ) been anywhere near past series.

It hasn't been the worst, but this past week has been boring. I think the final three are unworthy of the title, although I think Foggy deserves it most out of the three. Jake is just a desperate wannabe with Edwina feeding his ego, and Mel (although I like her) is not winner material. However I would prefer either Mel or Foggy to win it, not Jake, I can't stand his fakeness.

They did have casting problems this year which haven't helped, so ITV need to make sure this doesn't happen next year. And splashing out on someone like Michael was probably a waste of money. He's was expensive and did very little to entertain.

Forget getting TOWIE, Made In Chelsea lot and the other reality rubbish, they are nt worthy of their fee.

I thn the casting is always strongest when they get people who were famous in the past: i.e. Kian Egan, Kim Woodburn, etc. or old 80/90's singers.

Didn't realise they had casting problems? is their any article relating to this i'd be interested to read it. Who were they originally trying to get onto the show?

I didn't enjoy much of this year, but then I thought last year was pretty awful as well, with three equally dull finalists.

I would be interested, too. I would have thought they would have people lining up to do the show since how much they get paid and they get to stay in that hotel!

There were no big names this year which was disappointing.

Awful - dire line up, dire tasks, two people leaving so early, just dull. Missed some nights and didn't even bother to catch up.

I love IAC and I've really enjoyed this year. I thought there was a good blend of camp mates, I've liked the trials and challenges and I think Ant and Dec have been on great form.

I'm not a celebrity snob in that I think they are all worthy of being there whether they are from TOWIE or Hollywood. I'm more interested in what they are like as people than in their credentials as a celeb.

It's been awful, Edwina has made this series entertaining imo

I enjoyed it till Jimmy left and then the humour and atmosphere just seem to leave with him. I thought Jimmy and Foggy together were such a good team and the others enjoyed them too. But he left and it seemed Jake then got desperate as he must have thought he is in with a chance now and the others started to moan about everything. I think it would have been a much better camp if there didn't do the two tribes thing and just left the first vote to the public. Then I am guessing Jimmy would have been in a lot longer and the fun would have continued.

No major dramas. Maybe because too many sensible old people in. No comedians, well no professional ones. Let's face it's been on so long they must be running out of contestants. Especially when it gets down to reality TV stars.
Really missed Craig Charles I agree.

It was a big mistake I agree having the two groups against each other. Very BB that was. No fun for us and certainly not for them to be starved to weakness. Bad idea!

Ive just posted on this topic this in another thread about how quiet the forum is this year.

Quote:
“I've thought that all along. Just looked at last year. There were approximately 33 pages of threads during the show, this time it's 19 so far! That's a huge difference,350 threads less.

Last year was the worst ever for me and it seems to have put many DS FM's off watching.

Something clearly needs to change and I hope they take notice of viewers opinion.

I don't care who wins as long as it's not Mel. My favourites are gone”

.

DS is a huge forum and to lose so many people has to speak volumes about the way the show is deteriorating, surely.

They have also ruined the after show with dire squawking and biased presenters.

The after show seems to be pure self-indulgence. They all screech at each other and appear to have a few private jokes going on . Just like a bunch of immatures who get drunk together on a Friday night...

I've enjoyed it, not as much as some years but it's still be entertaining. I think it's been better than the years when no-one would do the tasks - at least we have seen them being done this year. I do think they missed Craig, not much they could do about that though.

I've enjoyed it. As usual the forum is about half the fun. It's not been a vintage year, but it's been a fun one. Bantergate was good, as I felt justice was done when Jimmy got the boot. Right up his banter-sore-arse!

Not been a vintage series IMO, and if Trousersnake does end up winning that will just sum it all up

They have had it much easier in there with all the treats and outside contact, the trials have been way too easy and haven't really pushed them

Been a bit too BB -esque this year, "fail a task/trial and you still get rewarded with a treat/party/some outside contact"

I know it gets said probably every year but it does need a revamp, as in changes in the public vote trials

Wish Craig was still there as he would have had a good chance of winning, he was much missed but understood his reasons for going

The line up hasn't been the best. I agree that Craig could've won. Lots of annoying people or people I originally liked but then became awful or I may have liked if seen more.
As well the trials haven't been great.
Ant and Dec have been good.

Boring annoying people, boring trials, too many involving bugs. Too many comforts for the Campmates. They need to go back to how austere the show used to be, or get some real Celebrities. I think it's been the most boring IACGMOH so far.

I liked the idea of the first camp split, with half in jail, but then doing it again for immunity seemed very "we've run out of ideas".

Same with the trials, yes gunking someone is funny, but when it's every trail it gets boring, especially if they are celebs who you don't know/ barely know/ couldn't care less about.

All in all, boring campmates, no epic funny moments, too much focus on "drama", it's trying to be every other reality gameshow, and it didn't need to.

It's not been one of the best I agree and the three that are left confirms that for me.

Craig was a sad loss I think because until he had to leave for obvious reasons he was coming across very well. He might not have stayed that way of course - we will never know - but I think he would have done because he seemed to be a good man and considerate to others.
