Mel Smith, Kim Wilde

Christmas songs are usually just background noise on the tv that I'll sing along with without thinking.
Mel Smith and Kim Wilde's Rocking around the Christmas tree. I noticed today that they've cut out the "haven't had this much fun since two little boys was number one". Which knew they would. I wouldn't have noticed though if I wasn't watching the tv at the time.
Just wondering if anyone else has noticed or is it like "fairytale of New York" where some channels play it all and some cut it out.

Why on earth would they cut either song? Nothing wrong with the 2 little boys line. Some are just too bloody sensitive.

Just as well Rolf was never asked to do Band Aid or they would have to dub in the line from another version.

I recall a person on this forum mentioning that they cut out this reference. I think it does not make any difference now, perhaps it should have been left in. However, you have to think of the victims whom have only just got justice.

Watched two festive countdowns on 4music which included this track yesterday. Both times the reference to Rolf was edited out. Still enjoyed the song - would have been a bit awkward to leave in.

Rolf was on the 1985 UK No.1 "You'll Never Walk Alone" By The Crowd

Or they might have asked someone else from this version to re-record his line.

I have it on a cd but actually noticed it sounded like a vinyl rip. I wonder if a digital transfer from the tape exists? I also bought the 12" for the extended mix - shame they can't release an extended play on itunes or something that is remastered.
