has anybody made this switch if so is there any difference with speed I've had virgin for the past 5 years but the price increase in February was one too many for me.

What seed was you getting with Virgin. Im getting between 64.3mb and 73.5mb 97% of the time with BT Infinity and im almost two streets away from the BT green cabinet.

50MB with Virgin i have chosen Option 2 BT infinity speeds are estimated at up to 80MB with BT sports on my Sky package (already active and a £50 Sainsburys gift card

You will never get the full 80mb but you will find that you should get well over 60mb speeds. Im on Infinity option 2 and have been since 2011 and have been 98% happy with the service. I now have had BT TV via the Youview box just over 11 months now.

Well overall there Wi-Fi signal could be a little better but that's only a minor problem once in a while.
Also the BT network was having minor problems 4 days ago with a DSN server that lasted over 24 hours but that's now beed sorted but every ISP has minor problems from time to time.

I switched from Virgin in January - I was on their 60Meg package. I used to get 60Meg all the time, but the upload was shocking at 3Meg.

I am about 250-300M from the cabinet and I get 73-75Meg download and 18.5Meg upload.

There have been one or two teething problems associated with the line from the cabinet to my house, and with a dodgy Home Hub 5 (that was replaced) but we seem to have them resolved now and things are looking rosy !!

It's such a shame that they invest millions in the fibre network and then the final leg of the delivery to the customer is, in my case, via 30-40 year old overhead cables.

Yes but it works and is so much more cost effective that digging up all the way to the house. Look how NTL ended up when they tried that approach

I also made the switch from the 30Mbps Virgin package, and now getting around 55Mbps on BT.

The speed is better and is costing me a lot less, and as for reliability, I am the same as Darren and about 98% happy which is probably what I was with Virgin.
