Why sad ?
Just shows people like him for who he is and not for what he won.
I just found it a bit sad that a man his age should be getting so emotional about winning a show like 'I'm A Celebrity'.

Surely the experience of just living in the jungle would be enough to fulfil most people his age without the need for validation from the public? His desperation about winning was the only thing I didn't like about him.

I didn't see it like that.

Although he achieved a phenomenal amount in his career, it ended suddenly, and I suspect there was still 'unfinished business' in his head.

I think winning was rather cathartic for him, and his quotes about people coming out and paying to see him race, and now, again, effectively paying to see him 15 years later 'win' closed the book.
