The Beat
Saw The Beat do a gig in Luton on saturday absolutely brilliant, was a bit hesitant as Dave Wakeling isn't featured but Ranking Roger rocked the place. The guy's in his 50's I think and jumps about like a teen.
Fantastic sound and sell out crowd full of energy. Any old Ska fans that get a chance to see them go on,you won't be disappointed. |

Saw them at Moles in Bath in 1980. Still one of the best concerts ever. I've also been hesitant to see them without Dave but on your recommendation I'll look out for dates. Could do with another Beat t shirt after all these years 😊

I bet it was a great night out
![]() I went to see The Skatalites in November and danced for 3 hours solid ( and I'm no spring chicken. In fact, they formed the year I was born ). I had to leave early to get the last train home. I was gutted. |

My parents loved them when they were teenagers, so i grew up listening to thier music, i love Mirror in the bathroom & Stand Down Margaret. I Just Cant Stop It is a brilliant album also, I would actually love to go and see them.

They seem to tour all over,so just keep an eye out,I think they're in London this weekend but probably a bit short notice for that.
mgvsmith-Yeah i agree they were probably the best of the Ska bands,I preferred them to the Specials who were usually seen as the top dogs. |

Saw them late one night at Glastonbury in some small tent. It was rammed and one of the best shows all weekend.
