Who didn't like Michael Buerk?

I think if I was in the jungle, I don't think I would have got on with him.

Too stuffy, pompous and a touch arrogant.

I would feel very uncomfortable with him.

If that were true he wouldn't have gotten on so well with Tynchy.

Much of what he said to camera was done tongue in cheek.

I'm not sure when he displayed any of the traits you have suggested. Those are words that I thought might describe him, but to many he was somewhat of a shock because he was the total opposite. Were you watching a different show?

The reality is that he got on well with everyone in camp, was voted the hardest worker and was very funny without being mean or OTT. He was the biggest surprise of this series, everyone else being pretty much as I expected.

He was a real man. Didn't turn on the fake tears when he had a letter from his grandkids. Saw through all the acting and playing up to the camera and just got on with it. Hanky Pannnnnnnnky!

I really liked him.
He was funny and entertaining without giving the feeling he was trying too hard.

According to the IAC voting figures for the ninth place vote off when Nadia left, Michael was ahead of Vicky, Kendra and Edwina. He made it clear though, how disappointed he was to not be leaving. Perhaps if he hadn't, he'd have been in the last five with Foggy, Jake, Mel and Tinchy.
I'd been voting for him but stopped because he obviously wanted to go. It turned out that he'd been losing a pound a day in weight. He looks over 6ft and came out weighing under ten stones. The newspapers made a thing of that, inferring that he might have to leave. When checked by a doctor, in camp, his blood pressure was described as " Olympian" but the negative publicity was already out there. Was voted hardest working campmate by the way so he hadn't been sitting around conserving energy as some, campmates had. Perhaps all that influenced other people as well who'd been voting for him - possibly.
Trying to remember how Christopher Biggins won. He, must have been very popular but I can't imagine or remember why so voting behaviour is often a mystery - unless a soap star or boyband member wins.

Lovely man who is probably too old to be considered as a role model for youngsters, but we can all learn from the professionalism of Michael B.

But he was still voted out by the public.

He wanted out and people who respected him didn't vote.

He was aware of that and by going in the jungle he hoped to loosen up bit, and I think he did.

Give me stuffy over foul mouthed, self absorbed, lazy and petulant. I think he was one of the nicest and funniest people in there.

He wasn't voted out as such, he just received the least votes to stay. There could be many reasons for this and dislike could be one but I'd find that the hardest reason to believe, I know he called himself a snob but in hindsight I'm wondering if that was just part of his dry sense of humour. Whatever I don't believe for a moment he was disliked massively as there was no sense of relief or feeling of job well done when he left unlike with Jimmy.

I reckon his votes weren't good enough / decreased due partly to him saying he wanted to go, partly due to people thinking he was totally safe (me ) and partly because he probably didn't attract the type that vote madly in reality TV shows.
