Oh, I agree. Ramps all the way for me, followed by Alesha.

Edited to add that I also loved Chris and Ola and Zoe and Ian. Was thrilled when the former won and gutted when the latter came third!

Oh, and Tom and Camilla. Their showdance still stands out for me as what a showdance should be ... Although of course, I shall never forget 'hot, hot, hot' (and I certainly was!!!!! )

Interesting to read all these posts. There are so many names here that honestly I had forgotten, though I liked them at the time. I remember being disappointed when Austin went, and Ali Bastion too, who was lovely. Funnily enough I had not liked Ali on "The Bill", but she really won me over on SCD. I didn't share the Susannah hate, because I think that was orchestrated, but I was delighted when Abbey Clancey won. And I just love Tuffers whatever he does, though he was certainly not the best dancer.

This is a perfectly valid thread.

My faves were Kara, Rachel Stevens and Kimberley Walsh.

I agree. Zoe is my all-time favourite, too. I'm not usually one for the dreaded 'j' word, but to watch her develop and become so graceful and elegant was wonderful. She and Ian also had (and continue to have) a great, fun partnership.

Others I have really liked are Ricky Whittle (never saw a bit of the supposed arrogance that many on here criticise him for), Ramps, Alesha, Harry Judd, Sophie EB and, for her attitude and personality, Judy Murray.

This year I'm struggling to care enough about any of them to be particularly bothered about who wins. In part I think that might be down to the even-more-inane-than-usual VTs, which really don't give any insight into the celebs' personalities, or it might simply be that the ones who have made it through to the latter stages, whilst competent, are very bland. Nor has there been a dance so far this year that has really motivated me to want to watch it repeatedly.

Ramps, always will be the one for me cos:-

1) I backed him from week 1 cos I thought if anyone could put in the effort AND put up with The Hardymeister it was Ramps

2) I think I had a bit of a middle aged crush on K. Hardy, at my age you do go a bit weird like that.

3) he did have one heck of a j*****y, I hate using that word, but if the cap fits.

4) THAT Argentine Tango

5) the final was an epic battle of stamina with only two celebs left, if it had not been between 2 sportsmen I have always thought it could have been a damp squib with poor old Emma Bunton, who went out in the semi, just not upto the heavy load needed that year. Which earns Matt Dawson an honourable mention in my list of favourite SCD celebs.

Probably not but she did first come to prominence quite young so 'mature' in the sense of experienced.

That was a tough series and an epically tough final. Both of the men performed to the limit. Thrilling. Emma was rather lazy as I recall, bunking off the cha cha cha.

Karen Hardymeister was remarking of Mark in the last few weeks 'he's wearing ME out.' I think they were doing 12/14 hours solid every day which you HAVE to, if you are really going to be good and put up an epic final. It helped that she was tough on technique from the start. Some current pros *cough* take note.

Oh, absolutely! None if this 'I can only practice for 2 hours a week' rubbish. I'm sorry, if you're going to commit to SCD, then COMMIT to it. You can't possibly hope to go far otherwise ...

And you need a tough teacher. Someone who will push you to the very limit, who will not just tease but DRAG out the ability within and showcase it for all to see.

And Ramps did have one heck of a journey .. I think it maybe took a turn on the week of the microphone 'disaster', though ... And the second version was just ... WOW!!!

'Sigh' we don't seem to be seeing much of real WORKING. Or perhaps they are, but they just don't want to show it.

The classic epitomisation of SCD. Especially week 5, when all of a sudden he who had barely spoken a dozen words suddenly came out with an impassioned eloquent 'PLEASE CAN WE HAVE ANOTHER GO!!!' And then he was on fire!
