Samsung Galaxy Ace 3
BinCat

My son has the original Galaxy Ace, he's had it about three years now. It's started to get a bit knackered and he said he wouldn't mind a new one. He likes the physical size of the Ace and doesn't really want anything too fancy, he only uses it for texts and calls and a bit of internet, youtube and such.

Is the Galaxy Ace 3 any good?

The Galaxy Ace 4 is available for the same money as the 3 (from the prices I've seen).

Why not consider the newer model?

Oh right, thanks I hadn't seen that. He's on a Virgin rolling sim, so he'd want a sim free or Virgin one. The virgin website doesn't seem to have the 3 or 4 so a sim free one would be best I think. I need to have a search

Because the newer model actually has lower specs than its predecessor, which makes absolutey no sense.

Galaxy Ace 2:
768MB RAM ... 800MHz CPU ... 4GB Storage

Galaxy Ace 3:
1GB RAM ... 1.2GHz CPU ... 8GB Storage

Galaxy Ace 4:
512MB RAM ... 1.0GHz CPU ... 4GB Storage

It really makes absolutely no sense whatsoever for the latest model to have half the amount of RAM and
internal storage, than its immediate predecessor, plus a slower CPU. The Galaxy Ace 4 is a pointless
waste of money, so I'd strongly recommend buying the Galaxy Ace 3 while it's still available.

That LTE version still has only 4GB of internal storage, half that of its immediate predecessor, which still
makes the Galaxy Ace 3 (which also has LTE) a much better buy than the totally pointless Galaxy Ace 4.

Anyone that knows the specs of both the Galaxy Ace 3 and 4, but still opts to buy the Galaxy Ace 4,
regarless of that, is an absolute, total, complete and outright idiot, with more money than sense!
