Considering it is only relatively recently he stopped playing football - and that, bear in mind,was in the premier league, he is hardly likely to be 48 to 50 is he ?
The only footballer who continued playing football at a high level to 50 years old was Stanley Mathews and that was a long time ago and when football then was nowhere near as fast -paced as what it is now.

I didn't know he'd recently stopped playing football. I assumed he was playing in the '80s and '90s.

I'd never heard of him before IAC.... so no idea if/when/where he played football. I too thought he looked more like 46 - his straggly grey hair is perhaps what ages him?

More likely the teams he played for actually !
I knew he could not have been much more than 36 for the reasons I mentioned in my earlier post and I do agree he looks older than that but personally I don't think much more than that.
And grey hair has very little to age and I am very surprised that so many people still think that. I know people who started to go grey in their twenties and more than wan who was totally grey not much more than 30.
