BBC Music Awards - which song should win best song?
As this category is voted for by the public, I'm interested to see who DS posters would vote.
I voted for Ella Henderson - Ghost, there are a lot of songs I like on there, such as Royals and Budapest and Rather Be came a close second but there's something about this song that I love. I've listened to it so many times and I'm still not tired of it.
Poll coming soon
I've picked "Budapest" from that list.
I've gone for Ghost but it's tough. Budapest and Rather Be would be worthy winners too imo. How have Coldplay managed to bag themselves a nomination

?
What an awful selection of songs, I went for Ghost.
Where's the "none of the above" option?
I went for Hideaway. Fantastic song. Not a brilliant list though and I've always felt Happy to be very overrated.
Personally I think best song of 2014 is 'Crying for no reason'
none in the list,
it should be THINKING OUT LOUD by ed sheeran
Anyone with a slither of taste would obviously pick Hideaway
Pharrell - Happy. A perfect pop song, and i've not heard, or can't remember hearing the others.
Maybe they didn't want to be seen as copying The Brit Awards but they should've had Best British Single and Best International Single.
By having Pharrell win Best Song, it looked like it made a mockery of all the British acts that were nominated. I mean, Happy has proved to be uber popular selling over 2 million downloads in the last 12 months which is undeniably epic. I just think the BBC Awards should have been more focused on celebrating the best of British. The Brits place American acts on a high pedestal all year round anyways.
My vote went to Rather Be.
I voted Ghost
How odd that Royals is nominated? That song was a 2013 song.

I think it was based on songs which got the most BBC airplay in 2014 as opposed to when it was released.
It was a bit of a bizarre event to be honest. I assumed they were going to be more awards than there actually was. It was really just an excuse for the BBC to show off their Introducing strand as far as I can see. If they bring it back next year I think they need to split the categories up and focus on the British talent as opposed the the Americans.
Worth watching for the performers though!
